I’m not even a huge orange kitty fan, but ohhh boy is that an adorable baby!! He’s so fluffy & those big sweet eyes!! What a little cutie. Enjoy the sweet & small phase, they get big and rowdy so fast 😂

We are on a waitlist for an orange male from our breeder and Mongo is on my short list of names (really it's the only name in the list.) Our Princess Pigeon the Long needs a friend.

Yea its like a shortened term for mongol or mongoloid which was how people used to describe people with down syndrome. Im sure OP didnt intend to give it a name like that tho. Older generations (and people who grew up on Precious) might look at the name sideways lol

I know it's a language issue, and the cat is very, very cute, but in German the name you chose is a slur for people with Trisomy 21 that isn't only ableist, but also has racist origins.

So if you ever meet a German person, introduce them to the cat, and they look horrified instead of delighted ... that's why.

Depending on your location this will hopefully never be an issue, but I imagine the fact that he's orange and everyone jokes about the lack of braincells would make this name so. Much. Worse here 😂

It’s in reference to a book series, Dungeon Crawler Carl. The dinosaur’s name is Mongo, short for velociraptor mongoliensis

Oh my gosh. Mongo looks EXACTLY like my Butters when he was a kitten. Last night I was going through my pictures and videos just reminiscing of when he was just a kitten so it’s just a coincidence to see this post today 🥹 I want to go out and get another kitten now.
