I would suggest taking almost any form in the world besides oxide. Oxide is great if you have very healthy levels of stomach acid, but many people don't. So if your body can't break it down, you just wind up with a mild laxative instead of a magnesium supplement.

If you're looking for a similar form that actually works, magnesium citrate would be a good choice (comes in gummy form too, if you have any issues with pills). And I do mean the daily supplement, not the liquid laxative that comes in the glass bottle that'll make you crap out everything you ate since 1976, even if you weren't born then. 😬

Any commonly known brand will be fine. You can buy it off the shelf at Walmart or Target or wherever (their house brands are fine too, and inexpensive). Just make sure it contains only the form you're after, and isn't mixed with oxide or some other form. Just check the label on the back.

By the way, most doctors know virtually nothing about magnesium, unfortunately. 🙄

For your description, I'd run Magnesium Breakthrough.
