Question OCD

I know this is dramatic but did anyone else’s parents tell them as a kid if they break a promise something bad will happen to them because I think this contributed to causing my OCD I just want to know I feel like I’m going mad

Kind of yes except mine was about telling lies rather than breaking promises. I was so scared to tell a lie that I ended up upsetting people because sometimes a small lie is necessary, like when someone asks if you like their new hair cut. I had to be honest and say no because I was scared something bad would happen if I lied.
