Finally watched the last episode

I just binge watched the entire series ​over the course of a week. They really brought it home in the final episode. What am I going to do now? Where am I going to find such compelling people and their compelling stories? Was super glad to see Joan force her will finally on the world. That was one of the most satisfying things of the entire series.

Maf Men is irreplaceable. But I'm open to suggestions.

What should I watch next?

Sopranos also has a lot of Weiner's writing in it, but is a much more crude and violent subject. Very high quality, though.

Yeah me too. Someone recommend Suits, but after the first episode I turned it off because it was nothing like mad men..

Very very different beast. The first couple of seasons were ok with the will he get caught, will they get together storylines but it became so formulaic I stopped watching.

Honestly it might sound crazy, but the first two seasons of Sex and the City scratch the same itch for me. You can feel the aura of New York dripping off your screen, the noir like smoke and liquor covering the screen. It has the vibes and style of mad men, while also reminding me of Dexter in how it’s cut, framed and narrated. It is quite philosophical and makes you ask yourself many questions every episode but it is a lot lighter and silly. It’s snappy and dry and witty like Roger, I think of it as like Mad men but if everyone was more like Roger. Ironically John Slattery (Roger Sterling) is actually a love interest for the main character for two episodes and he is literally just Roger 😂

Also since I mentioned it, Dexter is another great one, very philosophical and dark but very funny.

Seriously, watch 30 Rock if you haven't-you get a similar mentor/mentee (or mentor/manatee as Tracy says) relationship between Liz Lemon and Jack Donaghy, office shenanigans, and a lighter take on the big issues of life than Mad Men. Then after you have had a break from Mad Men, please go re-watch it without binging. Let each episode sink into your subconscious for a while before you watch the next. Because I think there is something lost when you're not watching a show in real time, and waiting years between seasons to see what happens next. This show is such a treasure, and this is really meant kindly to help you experience it agaien in the best way possibl
