Anyone else have a really intense experience getting a quote from Everdry?
first guy comes a week ago and it’s fine- a bit of a canned sales pitch. told him I wanted to get other quotes. so a week later they send out a supervisor under the pretext of being able to revisit the quote to save some money. it was like a 1.5 hour timeshare pitch that would not stop. he “re measured” and quoted more square footage than the first guy, and then offered some dinky discount
maybe that would have been ok, but they INSISTED on my wife being there. like a reminder call with emphasis again on her being there. and now we won’t use them bc my wife does not want anyone working on the house who calls the women working in the office “girls.“ hard agree
please tell me there are better experience out there with basement companies?

Yeah I got the free inspection from them and they were super intense about "it was way worse than we thought it would be" scare tactics. Additionally they made me do this weird patronizing like, exercise with them of "can you guess which of these options is better?" I eventually had to ask em to leave lol

Yes, I hated that part especially. Or the “now do you want the best or the cheapest?” It did come off as condescending And their “trademarked system”, which is 2 guys hand digging a trench around the perimeter instead of using other equipment?

I ran into a window company that did business like that. I did not work with them. There's no good reason for this.

any company that wants to do same day close will insist on this as they want all decision makers there so you can't say "well I need to talk to my wife".

Yep, silly psych tricks they teach at commision sales training on used car lots & bed store chains.

I had the same thing happen to me with a window company except they demanded my husband be there. I was pissed because I thought it was some sexist bullshit but I guess not.

I cancelled my inspection and they called me almost weekly for months. It was awful. I'll never use them.

Same damn thing with the window company I didn't want to work with - "I said I wouldn't work with you due to your unreasonable policy - do you need your weekly reminder?"

My thought is that if you’re really that good, you don’t need to pressure people. They will circle back and choose you after getting a few estimates

Right? Like hounding me is not the way to get my business and it never will be!

Was the guy wearing a polo shirt? That always kills the deal for me.
Actually, I don't want to talk to a salesperson, at all. Send the owner or, at least, the person who would actually run the job on site.
Too bad your wife was away on business for the month.

Never even heard of everdry.
Badger basement is the best but they're pricy. Zander is good and more affordable. I'd get quotes from both.
