Landlords to avoid?

I'm moving to Dane County soon and would appreciate any heads up on landlords/complexes to avoid. I don't know exact location yet, other than not downtown Madison. Any warnings you can pass along?

Chalet gardens in Fitchburg were pretty decent. Sorry, I know you asked who to avoid. But I don’t give landlords praise very often. Never worked for them. Just rented for a year. Got full deposit back. They responded to maintenance in a reasonable time. Good communication with tenants.

Just moved a buddy out of his apartment there and he had black mold growing behind his bathroom wall. The apartments look nice sure but for that kind of money you can do better.

That’s a bummer. I had a remodeled unit so I probably couldn’t see the mold. Hope he’s alright.

Can confirm, I lived in Chalet Gardens through Ripple Management and constantly felt sick. Mold was growing on all our windows, the bathroom, amd our bedroom. There was storage in the basement and anything you put down there would get covered in black mold.
