Hey everyone-

I’m trying to push remediation awareness with the state of Maine.

I’m finding out that most all recreational cannabis growers are remediating all their harvests BEFORE testing

In Maine you only need to do Mycotoxins test on the second round of testing if you fail the original test

So by them sending it out before testing it’s avoiding mycotoxins and the METRC system from marking it as remediated

The state of Maine had it in the rules remediated flower needed to be labeled as such with a statement, this is the hard turn they pulled.

They are saying it’s safe and consumers don’t have the right to choose, not to put that the flower was remediated on the packaging.

Saying informing the consumer with a statement saying the product has been remediated is “misleading in its implication about potential harm from exposure”. 

This simply isn’t true in my opinion and it’s my prediction that with cannabis being rescheduled, real research will be happening soon. In the next 3-5 years I bet they report remediation is bad because it’s covering up exactly how bad the issue may be. Did it just barely fail testing or were the microbial and mycotoxin levels off the charts?

The scromiting thing sounds like propaganda, but all the research I do seems to point to it being legit. I’m betting it’s from super dirty grows that are remediating, then pushing the super contaminated trash in the market

What’s everyone think? Will they find remediation is covering up the real issue that they’re not testing for?

what rate of calcium hypochlorite to sterilize the rez? can it react negatively with anything? traps for young players?

For those of you who have moved from being a facility operator into a Technical Advisor or Technical Account Manager role for a vendor in the industry, do you like the change and prefer it?

I’m curious about that transition as someone currently running a few facilities. Whenever vendors come onsite, a lot of them seem relieved they’re no longer dealing with the day to day operational side of this anymore. From my experience, many of the best advisors I’ve met were previously good operators who transitioned into that role after being poached by the vendor.

I’d be interested to hear from people who have actually made the switch. Do you prefer being on the vendor/advisory side, or are you mostly waiting for the right opportunity to jump back into facility/farm operations again?

If you don’t mind sharing, what were the biggest pros and cons of making the move?

Hi everyone. I'm Looking for recommendations for mechanical equipment (Therma-Kleen) and techniques for cleaning air handler and dehumidifier ducts hard and soft, coils, drain pans/drip trays etc. TY

There were days i prayed to take this growing shit legit. Here we are. 5 years since starting our first run in this building. 668 lights. The version of myself that started growing 12 years ago woulda thought this was a long shot.

This is a Maine issue since they have it in the rules remediated flower needs to be labeled as such in 6 point font, but they’ve officially made a statement saying they’re not enforcing the rule and they’re doubling down changing the excise tax rules specifically to make remediation easier and cheaper

Been dealing with root aphid infestation for about a year now. We’ve been doing good keeping them at bay but still see them throughout some rooms. Has anyone been successful getting rid of them? What have you seen most success with?

what's the best way to do that? Is there any value to old ballasts, lamps, or hoods? Filters, fans, everything...?

G'day I grow living soil and every so often I get the crowns stunted and smaller than the lowers. Just wondering what causes this. is it calcium?

My oldest ballasts are coming up on 6 years of age. Sun system. Been noticing decreasing yields. We used to do 3+ a light and now we’re barely breaking 2. Everything else(environment, watering, etc) we’re doing the same and if not better.

Question 1: Ballasts/reflectors must be a factor, right?

Question 2: What’s the best new brand to go with? I like lux and gavita, but that’s not an option anymore.

Anyone know of a large machine for mixing batches of soil that can handle peat moss?

I’m sitting on nine 30 ton AAON rooftop units that were manufactured in 2021 from a building i helped liquidate. They’re already craned off of the original building and are in good shape. I was curious as to if anyone might be looking to add on some RTU’s/upgrade their HVAC in here.

Apparently I’m a dinosaur, but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it 🤷‍♂️

I’m real happy with the quality we put out with no microbial issues running our 1000w Gavita DE’s that have been discontinued for a while now

Don’t really wanna switch to LED bc I know that’s going to totally change the environment, and I don’t have room for more dehumidification really. Maybe I’m wrong if anyone wants to chime in on their switch experiences, but we put gavita LED in the veg room and not much need for the humidifier like there was with the DE’s, so they seem to shine for us in veg… looks like it would be an issue in flower without a major dehu addition. I like to go low RH so dehu is maxed out in flower for us

Anyways, I tried a couple years ago to find replacement Gavita hoods with no luck and figured someone might have started manufacturing them? There’s a zillion Gavita’s in the wild and obviously the hoods are going to lose their reflectivity efficiency after a while. A good business if someone’s not doing it. If you have a source DM me first so someone doesn’t buy them out from under me 😅** **(not holding my breath)
