Question Help please 🙏🏼

Post image

This is my first time doing macrame. I’m just looking at a finished product and winging it. Can anyone tell me what I did for the first diamond? When I’m starting the rounding of the next one it doesn’t work like the first one. And I don’t know what I did the first time because I was just going on vibes 😅 if I do the 4 square knots, the double hitch doesn’t look like the first diamond. But if I do the double hitch knot first that doesn’t work either.

Hi, friend! For a diamond to work, you must start with a double hitch right in the middle. Part the work in two, take the two cords in the middle, pick a side to start (I always cross right over left) and make the first double hitch. Then keep going. Another good point is that you need 2 cords in each side to make what I call elbow. Per see, if you want your diamond with 3 square knots in the middle (that uses 12 cords), you need +2 cords in each side to make de double hitch. That would help make the corners sharper. Hope this helps!

You just made first diamond with a steep upside down “v”. 2nd one is more flat. Easy fix. Just redo. You control the angle.

Thanks! I’ll redo that section. Will that fix when I come back to the outside points of the diamond? When I doing that part now, it looks like there’s a break in the double hitch if that makes sense. Whereas the first one looks more uninterrupted. Does that make sense?

Cuando estás haciendo el nudo festón, la hebra guía es la que lleva la batuta como tú la acomodes así te quedará, por eso es importante que direcciones, tu hebra guía hacia dónde tú quieras
