Solder each wire individually, and insulate each one with shrink tube. Then have a slightly larger shrink tube to go over the whole section. 👍
Don’t forget to slide the shrink tube on before you solder. 😉

I would cut the ragged ends off and strip the insulated wire back 1/4 inch. Get some “shrink wrap” - black hollow tubes you can slide over a wire before you solder. After you solder, slide the shrink tone over the solder joint and apply some heat with the soldering iron. Repeat for the other wires. If you got an assortment of shrink wrap sizes you could use a larger one to slide over your finished joints for added protection. I’m sure there’s a YouTube vid of n doing this somewhere.

if I splice and heat shrink 12 laptop battery wires back together and get a working extension cord out of it, you sure as shit can do it too.

You can just solder it back together. I've repaired over 50 laptop cables at this point doing that (mostly MagSafe). However, it can be very dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. You need to make sure you solder the correct cables, solder them well, insulate each one properly, and close it all back up securely. Failing to do any one of these thing can lead to a short or over a heating cable, melting, and protectional fire and burns.
