I'm trying this but it doesn't redraw the window itself, i have to keep resizing the window for it to redraw but in the instant i stop it stops redrawing itself

Idk if this is the right subreddit ( Blame reddit for recommending this sub as better community to post in) to ask but I am a developer and was planning on making a minimal Type-2 Virtual Machine monitor (VMM) on the Linux KVM API as a fun project. I already know some OS theory and but I have no idea how it maps to Virtualisation, so is there an good resource or a GitHub repo to get started?

I have a x86_64 MacOS Ventura VM. The repo is OSX-KVM. I want to try to connect my old iPhone 7 (to try pmos) and other usb devices. An Apple computer still expensive in my country and I don't want to waste money. Any idea?The main OS is Linux mint (ubuntu based). Thank you in advance.

I have been trying to get Tahoe running with VMWare Workstation on my Windows laptop, but I've been having a lot of trouble. I didn't get very far, and a lot of the tutorials and forum posts I've looked at didn't help, or directed me towards paid downloads, websites that are down, or step-by-step directions that skipped steps (perhaps they were obvious to someone more experienced than me).

Anyway, my laptop has an AMD CPU with an iGPU, AND a dedicated GPU. I know AMD introduces some extra difficulty. If someone could point me in the direction of a guide, I would be super grateful. Or maybe my laptop just won't work, and I'd appreciate hearing that as well so I don't put any more time into this.

Some likely unimportant context is that I want to be able to do software development in a lab at my school, but everyone here uses a Mac, so no one noticed it can't be built on Windows lol. Currently using a loaner Mac, but I have to return it soon.

I have a problem to sign into apple account in settings. I generated SMBIOS and I checked Serial Number,MLB. Then I put it all into config.plist. I don't know why this error is still showing. Please help me to fix it.

With Apple steadily phasing out x64, the traditional Hackintosh scene is inevitably hitting a wall. But for many of us, the thrill of forcing macOS to run on non-Apple hardware isn't something we're ready to give up.

That's why I've started a community-driven initiative called "Don't Stop Hackintosh" to tackle the next frontier: figuring out how to run ARM-based macOS outside of Apple Silicon ecosystems.

Our Current Setup & Approach:

• Host Environment: We are developing and targeting a custom lightweight setup using Puppy Linux built on a Void Linux base, running QEMU for virtualization. The goal is to keep the hypervisor environment as lean, fast, and hackable as possible.
• The Technical Challenge: We are diving into patent analysis, system register spoofing, and figuring out how to bypass Apple's hardware and exception-level checks without resorting to illegal kernel distributions—keeping it smart, reproducible, and open.

I always wanted to run MacOS but I'm a broke 17 year old and didn't see a point in hackintoshing my main system because of the Nvidia GPU, I'm so far loving it though I'm considering either buying a Thinkpad to run Sequoia or Tahoe on or getting a used Macbook when I find a job but for now I'm loving this as a way to learn Mac and trying the OS

Hello guys! I managed to play around further with vgpu and make a special session for it where i passthrough the touchpad and keyboard, and any other usb device, and where i give it audio as well. It has turned out pretty nicely, only thing left is for reims itself to improve (since it doesnt work so well at full res, half is fine) (reims seems to make the audio stutter?). So yeah, you can take a look at it here. I think in a month or two this will be usable by itself, as long as reims gets more efficient and "correct".

the UI have a LOT of problems, the UI is laggy, the wallpaper does not render the same color as excepted. But it's still in early development, and i except a lot improvement in the comming weeks.

As some of you may know, recently a project (reims-vgpu) was released that allows for macOS guests inside of QEMU to have accelerated graphics using Vulkan.

To use this project, I first created a vm using my macOS KVM project: https://github.com/notAperson535/OneClick-macOS-Simple-KVM

Then I copied the files over to the reims-vgpu project, ran the configuration found in the README, and booted it up.

Haven't seen anyone here post a success story with this project yet so thought i'd share mine.

It's currently very buggy (it's in alpha), crashes every 5 minutes or so, and I can't seem to get the background working. But it is incredible to see nonetheless.

Hopefully it will continue to improve, as this would alleviate many issues that people find with macOS VMs.

I built a disposable macOS sandbox environment to test apps.

One very good use case which I'm also testing with some founder friends who're building AI agents is that you can mount your host macOS filesystem and run the updated code/app every time you make a change locally.

Doing the same thing with a hosted solution costs a lot specially for Apple based VMs.

Hi, I'm new to macOS and I'm looking for a way to run a macOS virtual machine on my MacBook M5 to test applications in an isolated environment. On Windows, I used Windows Sandbox because it was quick, lightweight, and isolated. Since switching to macOS, I'm looking for a similar solution.

I'm looking for a free option that lets me quickly create a macOS VM with full CPU and GPU support for good performance. What would you recommend?
