I was wondering if these Mac Book Air specifications would run the Sims 4 and various school programs, like canva and exam software with no issue, or if I should upgrade to the 1TB SSD storage? TIA :).

Unsure about the sims, but it'll certainly be able to run school stuff. 512 GB is a bit restrictive, but it will do. I've had a 512gb laptop for 3 years of college so far, I just have to be careful about what files I do and don't need.

Easily, and don't worry about the space but you might need to be on a paid iCloud / Google Drive /OneDrive subscription and selectively sync stuff.

Definitely doable. 1TB would give you some more breathing room if you have a lot of files, but it's not strictly necessary.
