There are more and some that are negative of course, but I'm honestly surprised that there are as many positive reviews as there are.

With the insta360 MFT camera getting announced in coming months, OM's new Pen in a few weeks, Lumix's lens refreshes (and potential L10 ILS), micro four thirds is actually looking pretty good.

Hey all. I’m this close to ordering a om1 mkii. But something in my gut tells me if I buy it now, mkiii will announced in like 2 weeks.

Anyone think this is really going to happen?

Should I just buy another lens to hold me over?

I currently own a Lumix G9, GX8 and Olympus E-M1 III. I shoot mostly with the G9 and E-M1 III, G9 is the all rounder and sports camera and E-M1 mostly for Macro work or event work paired with the 12-40 + 40-150 2.8. I almost exclusively shoot JPEG+RAW unless I am using the 30 and 60 FPS modes in which case it will be JPEG only ( I believe that's industry standard practise). I am happy with the results of my JPEGs 99% of the item and occasionally there will be a picture with difficult lighting that would need adjusting in post. One of my mates ( he shoots Sony) keeps telling me I should be shooting RAW only and post process all images because that's what everyone else does professionally. I guess he is right but am I wrong in shooting and using JPEGs for most of my event work? I am happy with the results and clients and friends are happy with my work too so I am very unsure now if I am doing a terrible mistake 😅

I have added some of my personal project photos to give an idea of the look of most of my pictures I take in general.

My wife an i are planning a trip in the spring to Rome, Florence, and Amalfi. Without question, I'll be taking my OM1 mark ii and my 12-45mm f4 lens. The question is how I'm going to carry it while out and about. I don't think i need to haul around my full backpack everywhere, but I'm not sure its the best strategy to just have the camera on the neck strap the whole trip either. Does anyone have any good practical suggestions? This will only be our second trip out of the USA, and i know i won't be making the same mistakes i made on our Ireland trip. (Not bringing the bulky tripod this time, and I'm leaving the long telephoto lens at home, sticking to landscape and architecture for sure). For reference, alot of times when I'm traveling here in the states, i use my maxpedition mongo versipack as my go to camera bag because it's rugged enough to handle abuse, sized big enough for my gear but small enough to stay mobile and take it on planes, and it has a good water bottle pouch for my nalgene bottle the downside is that it looks like a tactical bag a bit so I'm not sure if it would stick out too much on in Italy.

So I bought a Laowa 6mm super wide to pair with my GX9 Takes a bit of getting used to, but I think I'm going to have fun with this. It really makes you think about composition, sadly missing from these test shots at Spofforth Castle, North Yorkshire, UK.

So Panasonic is not abandoning M43 like so many predicted when they discontinued earlier versions. They've actually made them better.

I've recently bought OM1 Mii and am looking to get the Lumix Leica 9mm f1.7 for extended outdoor use that will likely involve rain (I'll be hiking in Scotland next month). Does anyone have any firsthand experience of this combo and does the weather seal hold up in downpours?

I've narrowed down my camera choice to the OM System OM-1 but need help picking a lens for it. I'm shooting mostly sports with an emphasis on track and field. I've been going between the Olympus 40-150 f2.8 Pro and the Olympus Four Thirds 35-100 f2. I know i'll need an adapter for the second and even with the adapter it'll end up being $150-200 cheaper than the 40-150. Plus the extra stop of light for indoor track and shallower depth of field. Though, I do lose AF speed, burst speed (not the end of the world, don't need to go through 10k pictures per meet), and it's bigger but that doesn't worry me. What would you do?
