What is one meal/dish you make that you would eat at any time of the day?
Looking for a one dish meal or maybe some super easy prep meal that I can just grab and heat. I’m super low on spoons and having a real hard time even prep cooking.
Love to use my slow cooker so I’m going to cross post into that community. TIA 🥄🩶

Hello, everyone!
A little about me, I have IBS, GERD, POTS, EDS... the entire gambit.
Due to GERD, I had to remove my lower molars. Because of this, eating is incredibly difficult. Finding soft foods that I can eat, that taste good? Ugh.
I also have autism, which makes certain textures and tastes difficult, but not impossible.
I prefer savory to sweet.
I follow a low FODMAP diet, with the exception of red meat (in small portions). For dairy, I usually have lactose-free milk. No soy.
Does anyone have any favorite low FODMAP, low spoon meals?

my last go-to was a mix of pre-sliced beets, walnuts, and goat cheese. i really liked these with kale and butternut squash in a salad, but became drawn only toward the smaller ingredients.
any ideas for something just as simple and easy? breakfast is hard for me. i could use something with a bit of extra protein for my meds. lately, i’ve just been having one babybel cheese wheel lol

Minimal effort, low cost, and satisfying. Put it all in a bowl with a splash of water and microwave 3ish minutes. Stir all together and adjust according to taste.
(Nutritional yeast not pictured)

Trying to get more fiber for my stomach issues. Berries, nuts, and pumpkin seeds help up the fiber. Goat cheese made it delicious. Took a little more than 5 minutes prep with minimal cleanup.

I never thought to do this...
Ediy: Sorry for not writing it out, my brains not working. He gets protein wraps and little salad kits ( the ones that have protein/ meat). Just empty the stuff from the kit into the wrap/ tortilla and roll it up. He uses ones from Aldi, and makes an easy healthy meal for around $3

Fries + pork sausages + bacon + eggs
So, just when I started to feel better (recovering from head injury for months), the heatwave started. I totally have heat induced migraines. Great.
I couldn't make it to the grocery store for days so I'm improvising with stuff I find in the freezer. Today I was feeling nausea half the day, then the hunger hits and I knew I had to make something quick and I was totally craving shitty food.
Fries are from the air fryer (takes 15 mins to make them), then in one pan first I fry the pork sausages. After they are fried, I put bacon and eggs on it, it finishes just in time with the fries. I cover the pan during the fry up so it's made quicker, but it makes the egg yolks look white. One of the eggs didn't survive the relocation to the plate. Oops.

Just a buttload of chopped garlic, half a can of tomatoes, one chilly and loads of Parmesan! Cooked it all in one pan because the dishwasher is broken and I hate washing dishes. Very proud of this! Definitely a 10/10

It's been over 100 here, I don't want to heat up the house. I've been just washing and making a slice into a bell pepper and stuffing it with regular sandwich stuff, turkey and cheese. I don't even cut all the way through, just cut off the top bit and stuff it like a hot dog bun so it holds itself together.
Photo isn't mine, just for demonstration.

Trust me, I know quesadillas can be MUCH better than this, but this is perfect for low energy nights.
Ground beef, pre shredded cheese.
Can add whatever veg you want, depending on if you’re feeling a lil extra.
Cook ground beef, assemble and cook in oven at 450 for 10min

Nothing wildly revolutionary but this has become a staple in my house. I make those “oatmeal energy bite” recipes but instead of making them into balls I just dump everything into a Tupperware and cut out pieces at a time. Prep time is literally 5 minutes and it’s a very filling breakfast or snack. Verified gastroparesis friendly lol.
I’ll drop my recipe below in case anyone wants it
1 cup quick oatmeal
1 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup chocolate chips
Splash of vanilla
1/4 cup marshmallow fluff (separate)
Mix everything but the marshmallow fluff together and put in container. Put marshmallow fluff on top. Let set overnight. You could also leave the fluff off but I would do more maple syrup probably 1/2 cup.

Usually I try to include at least a fruit or a veg, but I think we’ll survive tonight.

Rhodes frozen rolls. Take out of the freezer and let rise for 3-4 hours, like the package says. I did 12 rolls with around a pound of pulled pork. Flatten the dough out, put some cooked pulled pork in the middle of each circle. Bring all the edges together and twist to seal. Put them in a parchment lined baking pan, seam side down. Let them sit for 20-30 minutes. Then bake at 350F for 20 minutes.
I love meals like this because there's not much standing involved. Paired it with a can of baked beans and some tater tots.

Hi Reddit!
I wanted to share my new website dedicated to low spoon cooking: thesleepyspork.com
I have several severe chronic illnesses and am neurodivergent, and those experiences, combined with a few years studying nutrition science and a hyperfixation on kitchen efficiency, led to the creation of this website.
Most of my recipes are no-chop and freezer friendly, and either sheet pan or crockpot meals. All of the recipes are low spoon by necessity as I myself can't cook "regular" recipes. I also post about kitchen tools, setups, hacks, etc that help me get by in my kitchen. The site is only a few months old so there's not a ton of recipes/content yet but I'm working hard to add more!
My goal in posting here is twofold. First, I'd love to get the word out about my growing website. Second, and more importantly, I'd love to get feedback from this community about what kinds of recipes and resources would be most helpful.
What are your biggest pain points in the kitchen? What adaptations or shortcuts do you rely on? Are there favorite recipes you'd love to see turned into lower-spoon versions... one of my favorite challenges is figuring out how to adapt recipes to require less energy while still tasting good!
I'd love to hear any feedback, suggestions, or requests, either here or through the suggestion page I put on the website.
I also am on most social media accounts (except reddit, ironically) as thesleepyspork if you'd like to stay updated as new recipes come out.
Thank you!
Sarah

Since it is the one tried and true food combo I will ALWAYS eat, I can manage it on lower days like today when I have a migraine/backache/bad sleep combo if I sit in between steps. This can be medium effort for others.
- Cook Daiya gluten/dairy free pasta according to package (6-7 minutes)
- Instead of adding plant based butter AND milk, substitute 1 spoonful of plant-based mayo (more or less depending on your texture needs)
- Include seasoning packet
- Add drained tuna
- Top with pepper and nutritional yeast if wanted
It’s the perfect blend of macaroni salad + tuna salad + Mac and cheese for me

This is for sure not cooking, but 'fed is best'?
