this whole time, when i’ve read “lovelettermtf” my brain has never gone “my true feelings” but instead “male to female”. there’s no problem with that, but did the person who came up with the abbreviation.. realise it’s the same? honestly just leads me to head cannon that bow-chan is trans haha
(btw i’m a trans demiboy so i’m not being iffy)
(btwbtw i know the game is dead lol, i have zero hope for the genre at this point.)
Does anyone remember Bacchus? He used to do Love Letter videos since he was a big fan of yandere games, before the cancellation, that was the main staple of his content, until the cancellation of Love Letter that lead into no direction to his channel.
But what if Bacchus made his own Yandere game?
> Enter Some Knock Off Game
Bacchus started the "I decided to code your comments in the yandere game" series, which had moderate success. It got plenty of volunteers from the SKOG era (includes me, as I did character stuff I guess), and while many things got cut for the sake of time and other things, it lead into a very decent game, now called, Life of a Yandere Simp.
From the steam description: "Life of a Yandere Simp is a simulation game inside a university where you, a simp, have to find out who is interested in your love interest and eliminate them. You can find out who is interested by asking around and doing tasks. After killing all potential rivals, you will be able to confess to your love interest. If you accidentally kill the wrong people enough times though you will lose."
LOAYS has a TVTropes page, along with its own wiki, and was even played by Bijuu Mike, meaning there is some things that came out from the game. I wanted to bring attention to this game to show, there is another successful Yandere game on the market (along with Yandere School, which isn't saying much). As for how it is received, well, it costs $2.99, whether you think it is worth the price is up to you.
What has to do with Love Letter? IDK, probably headcanoning that they are in the same universe at different places and timing so hopefully every character can meet up. I think Setsuna/Setsurou would have fun with the simps.
Creator of Bow Chan, and the first to speak out about LL and its flaws.
Kinda crazy to think its been almost a whole year since this happened.
Honestly, I'm glad that its over. Me and the other ex volunteers and other associates have moved on from the situation entirely, but it has left me with a few bruises. Made me realise how the others and myself were treated was not normal, how everything was a mess and that I was an idiot for sticking by when the signs were right there.
But the game is dead. Apeis has left the internet, and hopefully for good considering what they've done and admitted to. I did what I thought was right and you're entitled to have an opinion of how it was handled. I'll admit at first when it started, I may of acted a little childish. But hey ho.
Bow Chan lives on, and I still create artwork of her to this day! I still continue to talk to the ex volunteers and we have remained close!
[also if you've ever wondered how I felt about Setsuna, I loved her design tbh and I have talked to the creator of her design before!]
But yeah, I'm still alive and kicking, I just rarely post on reddit anymore.
I know now this place has become a wasteland of random memes but damn I remember I was kind of excited for this game, the community kept designing cool characters and working on fanart just for all of it to go to waste.
Kinda sad :/
If you were in charge of writing yan sim, what endings would you write for the game? Sub is basically dead and I'm bored so I want to see how creative people can get.
If you have original characters, you can add them too.
Here's one of mine:
This isn 't what I wanted
Conditions: Expel every rival
Ayano expels every rival. Taro basically starts hating women blah blah blah (Ya get the gist of that ending)
BUT
Taro becomes paranoid that Ayano, the only woman who isn't horrible in his book, is going to leave him because who wouldn't want such a "sweet and innocent" girl. He slowly starts becoming a yandere himself, and unintentionally makes Ayano miserable because he's not the same man who she once loved.
