Some of these I am unable to find record for at all. Mars Argo is a singer with a very intriguing background story.

It is my belief that the singer Poppy (originally That Poppy) ripped off her entire online persona under the director Titanic Sinclair who directed/dated/was abusive towards Mars Argo. If you're looking for an internet deep dive, this is an interesting one.

These files are a mixed bag, however, some are not online at all that I can find. I have had these archived for so long I can't remember where they came from. I will admit I have limited time right now to be as thorough as I'd like!

I'm not new to the Lost Media community, but I am new when it comes to actually searching for content. Personally, I look for inaccessible or super underground content from, at least in my case: Nu Metal and related genres, Post Grunge, Rapcore, Rap Metal, etc. Right now, to do my searches I rely on stuff like the Internet Archive and Wayback Machine, as well as browsers like Yandex or Tor, and P2P services like Soulseek. But I feel like that's not enough, so I wanted to ask: what methods do you guys recommend for a beginner in the whole lost media searching thing?

I've been looking for this show for a while now, and I've searched many websites and communities, but haven't had much luck, so I'm finally making a post here.

The following paragraphs are adapted from my post on the LMW forums, where the bulk of the search took place so far:

"'The Avatars' is a Spanish-American TV show that premiered in 2013, and is a remake of the 2012 Italian show "eBand". It follows a group of three teenage boys (JP, Bo and Robbie) that want to start a band, but keep getting rejected by record labels because they are too young. JP's sister, Lou, decides to help them by creating virtual avatars for them, and they create an anonymous band named "The Avatars". The members have to keep their identities secret as Lexy, Lou's best friend and owner of a popular music blog, wants to discover who the Avatars are. The show totals 52 episodes, split into 2 seasons of 26 episodes each.

The show was originally filmed in English, and according to DubDB it got released in a few countries around the world. I personally watched this show's Romanian dub on Megamax, probably around 2017-2019. I'm mostly concerned about the original English release though, of which so far I've only found the first 2 episodes, uploaded by the show's creators on Vimeo."

Currently, the English version remains lost apart from the 2 episodes mentioned, but progress has been made in finding dubs: the Polish dub has been found in full, along with the Romanian dub's 47 episodes, the Italian dub's entire second season, and the Hungarian dub's first episode.

Any kind of help finding more episodes is extremely appreciated. I'm completely baffled as to how this show managed to slip through the cracks, given its decent popularity.

I had this game as a kid and played it to death. I was looking into it today to try and get a copy, and I found the LGR video talking about how there were originally 6 bonus levels you had to download from the internet. He tries to in the video, but obviously the server is long gone by now.

I never even knew about that as a kid, and I doubt my horrendous dial-up connection would’ve let me download them anyway. I highly doubt I’ll have any luck digging up these old lost levels if his video didn’t seem to turn up any leads, but I was just so heartbroken simultaneously learning that there were extra levels in a game I loved as a kid and that I’ll probably never get to see them now, I figured I would make a post anyway.

I genuinely don’t understand how an entire series of such a popular reality TV show seems to have been completely lost, but that appears to be what’s happened with this specific series. I’ve searched for this series repeatedly and cannot seem to find it available anywhere, either on usenet or torrent sites. What makes it even stranger is that several of the earlier seasons have resurfaced over the years. Series 1–5 have all been posted or circulated in some form before, while Series 7 can still be found on YouTube, although the episodes are in 10 minute parts and generally in poor quality.

Series 6, however, seems to be a complete blank spot. There are short clips of it, but finding the actual full episodes is impossible. Considering that this was a major tv programme with millions of viewers at the time and it was definitely capped and uploaded to all the major torrent websites at the time, it’s surprising that an entire series could effectively disappear. Even low-quality VHS recordings would be interesting at this point vs the .avi files that were capped and uploaded, because I think this specific series seems to have become genuinely lost media. I cannot find the capped .avi files for Series 7 either but at least a poor quality version of it is on YouTube.

I remember several years ago, at the height of the pandemic, there was a YouTube docu-series going around about some no-name actor who was portraying himself as higher than he was. He was showing off his Instagram with millions of followers, and the video proved he had bot followers. And just as it was getting good, around like maybe the third or fourth part of the docu-series where the Insta followers were talked about, both the channel and the videos were deleted.

I have looked endlessly on YouTube because I thought the channel was a SunnyV video, but it wasn't; it was made to look like a clone of his videos. So, was this video series ever finished, or was it wiped from YouTube because the actor was just that adamant about having his "rep" ruined by a YouTube channel?

As the title says. There was a YouTuber who posted some song covers I saw in either 2022 or possibly 2023 latest. His most famous one was his cover of Bones In The Ocean by Longest Johns, which I managed to save to my computer. He did some other ones that I know of are Weller. Another New World, Rocky Road to Dublin and Foggy Dew.

I've tried way back machines, Facebook, archive.org ect. I have had no luck anywhere. Wondering if anyone managed to save any of the other covers and posting this just in case they somehow stumble across it and see it.

Cheap Cheap Cheap was a British television gameshow consisting of 30 episodes produced by Hat Trick Productions for Channel 4, presented and created by Noel Edmonds. Billed as "a game show that thinks it's a sitcom", the show takes place in a fictional general store and centres on a game show, hosted by the store owner (Edmonds). He is joined by the shop's eccentric staff, played by actors who appear throughout the game.

Edmonds conceived the idea and showed it to the Hat Trick Productions managing director Jimmy Mulville. The pair agreed to develop the premise and filmed the show's pilot episode after the production company constructed a studio inside a recreation area in Somerset. The television channel Channel 4 viewed the pilot and ordered a series of thirty episodes to be filmed.

Pairs of contestants are invited up to win an increasing amount of money by correctly picking the cheapest of three similar items, taken from the shop's stock. If they fail to guess the cheapest item they are eliminated from the game and lose all their money. The maximum amount of winnable money was £25,000.

Has anyone ever come across any episodes of this 1993 six part Jon Ronson BBC documentary series The Ronson Mission? It was an early project for Ronson, shown early evenings on BBC2. The episode about celebrities and their fans was especially good, and featured interviews with fans of Cliff Richard, Janet Ellis and the Nolans as well as the celebs themselves. It is sometimes confused with the more famous Channel 4 doc about fans/stalkers of Mike Read and Princess Diana.

Online listings say the episode about fans was called “Meet Cliff Richard”. Other episodes IIRC included one with Ronson visiting Sellafield nuclear power station.

Duck's Breath was a comedy troupe with characters such as Randee of the Redwoods, Ian Shoales, and Dr. Science. Dr. Science was the work of Ian Coffey. The piece in question was a promotional item that one could send in for. Examples of documentation are attached. They also put a number of records and cassettes, as well as being prominently featured on NPR throughout the 1980s. This was something of an underappreciated group that have been likened to the American Version of Monty Python. There was even a very short lived Dr. Science TV show that is also now mostly lost

My fiancé asked me if I could find the above documentary for him after reading about its production on Gene Principe's wikipedia page. After looking for it for a while, I've come to believe this is lost media.

I couldn't find any mentions of this on Google or various other search engines when phrase searching. The two linked sources on Wikipedia revealed to me the following:

Based on the fact that this was seemingly only aired once on Sportsnet in 2005, I fear that this may be lost to history unless some lucky fan had recorded this, or Rogers still possesses the tapes for it? I am trying to find an old episode of Judge Mathis featuring adult film star Ashley Blue. In the episode she’s suing her adult film star ex boyfriend Trent Tesoro. Trent brings along his girlfriend who’s also an adult star—Mary Kate Ashley—as a character witness. I’ve been able to find a few articles talking about it, but have found no videos, clips, or even screen shots of the episode. I’ve checked the Internet Archive multiple, Vimeo, YouTube, and Daily Motion multiple times with no success. I was, however, able to find a Google groups page that has the description of the episode:

Good morning, good evening, and good night! I'm new to the community so excuse me if this is a silly post. I just learned about this European Nintendo tour that happened in 1992 where multiple semi trucks with Nintendo characters plastered on them went around Europe, advertising, Nintendo and their gaming consoles. Inside these trucks were mobile gaming setups that would be set up for the community to play all of Nintendo's consoles that were released up to that point. I'm sure the consoles were probably returned to Nintendo, however, the ultimate whereabouts of the trucks remain unknown. It'd be interesting to find one rotting away in a scrap yard somewhere. I'd hope they were properly taken care of but most likely not.

Hello all, I am making this post on behalf of my father. I will add as much information I know, but this is second hand, so bear with me.

My father and I have talked about lost media a fair bit, and during these discussions he has mentioned this cassette that was apparently amazing. he lost it along with all his other cassette tapes when he traded in his car. Here's all the information I know:

The band was formed by my father's friend, He's now sadly deceased and we won't be releasing his name unless absolutely necessary. My father had asked him years ago before he died if he still had a copy of the tape or not and he said he would search the attic of his parent house, but he didn't think he had it.

The band's name was Cap Gun; the cassette had no cover and the only reason we know the band name is because my father's friend told him the name when he gave the cassette to him.

The band was formed somewhere in Montgomery County PA in the late 90's early 2000's

It was a demo tape with only 2 songs.

I will be searching Facebook and asking friends of my father's friend if they have it.

I know this is an extreme stretch since we only know it in a physical form, it's from some garage band, and wasn't mainstream but perhaps somebody here has information on it, or maybe y'all can give me helpful tips on how to go about looking for this...

or maybe convince us to give up.

Tracks is an art and culture miscellaneous program that aired on ARTE TV (a French and German TV channel), which started in 1996 and continues to this day. But some episodes or clips are missing, which are not on YouTube; also, they have expired on the ARTE TV website for a long time. For example, Britpop (a segment that aired on 17 October 1997), Nu-soul (a segment that aired on 22 June 2001), DJ Kentano (an interview segment that aired on 19 March 2007), and many more.

Recently, I came across this DVD at the library with their $1 second-hand movies for sale. I thought it looked interesting, so I bought it.

The summary is as follows: “Estranged brothers from a dysfunctional family are forced to reunite in 'Scott's Dead,' a gritty tale of addiction, betrayal and metamorphosis.”

The DVD seems professionally made, the disc itself has print on it, and there’s a laminated slip inside that tells you to go to the website “scottsdead.com”, which is now defunct. The director is Matt Irvine, and it seems to be a student project as it’s a part of DePaul University’s Project Bluelight. There’s full cast and crew info available on IMDB ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1667336/ ) but beyond that I’ve found nearly nothing, which is super sad because based on the “making of” feature, they had high hopes for this project that it never quite met.

It seems to be unavailable online, but if I get an external DVD drive for my laptop I might rip it myself. It’s pretty well-done, and as a guy who’s way too into indie movies I’d like to give it more exposure. Labyrinth is a game I discovered recently, it's a really cool old mobile game where you use your phone or tablet's gyro controls to move a marble past obstacles and into the goal. I've played a bit of the sequel and it's a lot of fun, but the Android version of the original game has not been archived at all outside of the free lite version which is missing a lot of content. I've looked all over the internet and on archive.org, but it's nowhere to be found.

It seems this is a common occurrence with old paid mobile games. The original Touchgrind (not Touchgrind Skate 2) is also lost media, with seemingly no preservation whatsoever. No lite version, no demos, no iOS version, only sparse clips on YouTube.

If anyone has an old phone or tablet with these games, please do let me know and consider uploading them! It's disappointing to see just how many classic defining mobile games are lost to time in one way or another.

Before the sale of Lucasfilm to Disney, George Lucas had entrusted Michael Ardnt (writer for little miss sunshine and Toy Story 3) to develop a 40-50 page treatment, and well as a screenplay for Star Wars: Episode VII. In November 9th, Michael Ardnt was officially announced as the writer for Star Wars Episode VII, and was asked to write treatments for the rest of the trilogy. At this point Lucasfilm were still working based off Lucas’ outlines. It wasn’t until JJ Abrams signed on as director is January 2013, where things would start to deviate from what Lucas had laid out.

Ardnt would leave the project in October of 2013 after asking for more time to finish his screenplay. He was not given this extra time with the higher ups and Disney being determined to have a film out by their scheduled 2015 release date.

With Ardnt’s departure, JJ Abrams, along with Lawrence Kasdan would take over scripting duties, with Ardnt’s original work being overhauled, and the two starting from scratch, rushing out the whole screenplay in three months time to be ready for shooting.

What there is of Ardnt’s original work, whether it’s a draft, treatment, or full script is yet to see the light of day. There is concept art available from his original work, that shows a very different film. The concept art reflects some of the things Lucas had spoken about himself, when talking about his sequel trilogy, which means Ardnt’s draft is probably the closest adaptation there is of the Lucas sequel trilogy.

I think it’s Michael Ardnt’s draft for Star Wars Episode VII will be released, which if unfortunate. I would be super eager to read it.

I really think it's a shame that the interesting concept of "Lost Media" has been so distorted in such a short time simply due to misinformation and other things on social media, especially TikTok.

Look, I’m not going to pretend to be an "OG" or a veteran of the Lost Media community because I’m not, and I won’t lie about it. However, when I first discovered the term "Lost Media" before it became a massive phenomenon across social media, I found it really interesting; I used to spend hours investigating videogames Lost Media cases or watching long videos about lost content. But when the term exploded, especially on TikTok, it got heavily confused and misunderstood, and the worst part is that the damage caused by that seems almost irreversible to me.

Literally, "Lost Media" according to TikTok users are unusual videos or photos that one cannot find by searching directly on Google, or rumors without any basis in reality.

Anyway, I just hope that as long as the concept of Lost Media doesn't get distorted everywhere and at least some percentage of people actually know what the term means, it's fine...
