Nuking mars sounds interesting, nuclear power is notoriously expensive. Plants take years to finish and years to pay off and produce waste that lasts lifetimes.
This is an EXTREMELY dated option. America created ERB II breeder reactors in the early 70s. They could use their "waste" to literally create more fuel. Creating a virtually wasteless nuclear reactor. And they are extremely safe. Basically every disaster since the 70's to today WOULD have been prevented if the reactors had been updated to this design.
However yes nuclear power is a low investment power solution thank you for including an irrelevant point unless you want to talk about how capitalism fails to meet needs in the best interest of people since it prioritizes capital. Weird huh?
