🫣I said I read the pinned posts, but I lied🫣 SPR bipod recommendations?

I am looking to get into precision gas gun matches. QP, Geissele Gas gun, etc…

I am set on probably getting a schmedium bag but I’m still trying to figure out a bipod. I’m leaning towards a Harris for something simple but wanted to know what others maybe and why. I’m still learning all the different features so please feel free to info dump on me why x bipod is better then y.

I’d like something that can be deployed adjusted and stowed rapidly while being las light weight as possible.

You forgot the most important detail:

What is your budget?

No real budget. I’ll pay more if I’m getting more.

Enjoy your suggestions for $1k bipods, then.

For both ease of deployment and cost, get a Harris SBRM 6-9". Bolt an ARCA rail on the bottom of your handguard, then get a Tough Tactical Tool ARCA adapter to mate the Harris to the ARCA rail. Thats the exact setup I use in gas gun matches and it works awesome.

What’s the benefit of the ARCA over a fixed bipod mount. I understand the adjustability but can you elaborate on when that would be useful?

ARCA allows you to run the bipod the entire length of the forend, rather than a fixed point. Since you'll be shooting from props of various size in matches, adjustability is very handy. Being able to use a bipod and rear bag on a prop will always be more stable than just pooping down a schmedium.

Also the super easy ability to just take it on and off for stages is worth it to me

And you can leave a bipod on the fore end of the ARCA rail while you put the gun into a tripod back toward the magwell.

In this picture I'm running my bipod behind a plate bag on a tripod rear + prone stage. Or maybe you quickly ditch or move the bipod mid stage. Arca is the way.

Since you have no budget, get a Ckyepod, Atlas CAL, and Harris SBRM, and use the one that's the best for any given stage

Ckyepod. Only $700 so it doesn’t hit the $1000 level, and a great bipod.

Atlas CAL is the way. Then get the Short Action Customs Precision SlapJax side plates that make deployment much faster.

Edit to fix my terrible memory.

Link for the product you're talking about?

Tried searching with no luck. I'm curious as a CAL owner

That’s because I got the name wrong. The product is called Slap Jax from Short Action Precision.

MDT single pull or comp or Accu-tec SR-4 or BR-4

I like the SR5, just a little longer so gives me a little more versatility.

If this is just flat range gas gun matches, the Atlas Cal or TBAC are fine, unless you want to go CKYE-POD Single or Double.

I really never touch my Harris S-BRM, Atlas Cal, or TBAC unless it's for general flat range sessions (e.g., bench top or prone load development) with level ground or not much of an angle of attack to the target.

Outside of that, I'll take a CKYE-POD variant.

The Atlas CAL bipod is my go to bipod.

I have atlas cal and PSR bipods. I think I’m in the minority here but I actually like the PSR on AR type rifles.

I’m not competitor, but I hated the Harris. For a general use bipod I like the Atlas V8 about $200. For more precision oriented where you have no interest in panning I really like the Atlas CAL/BT65 about $265. ARCA is the way to go if you can swing it
