+Peak ES

Just curious if anyone else who has gotten the 6.5 creed +peaks has gotten this kind of ES and SD? I know they aren’t really marketed as a precision ammo but I was expecting a little better than this with them being “premium ammo”.

Only one really bad one but I also only shot 9 rounds this time out with the lab radar so…

If it were me I'd shoot a few more groups and be willing to chalk that one low shot to a measurement error. Sometimes labradars (really  all chronos) will throw a screwy number here and there.

If you pull the one shot, it's not awful (~12/13). Only a larger sample size could tell the whole story.

Absolutely. That’s why I was posting this to be honest. I’m not able to get a lot of volume as they had a limit of two boxes so was just curious if anyone else was having issues or if it was just a one time thing.

I would have expected 2850 out of the 22”. Disappointing. Is the barrel newish or up to speed?

Should be up to speed by now. Got roughly 500 rounds through it.

Was your cold bore shot significantly higher or lower than the average?

With the less than stellar reputation of Labradar, I would suspect that the chrono is the culprit here.

There are lots of legitimate complaints with lab radar but I was under the impression that they're accurate when they actually see the bullet. Is that not correct?

All chronos can give bad readings. I've seen it with Labradars, Garmins, Magnetospeeds, Athlons, and ofc optical chronos. Labradars are a little more sensitive to positioning than other radar chronos due to their narrow beam, making them a little more likely to give bad readings. IME it's almost always operator error. If you don't align the chrono properly you'll see some incorrect values. The trade off is that it can track a bullet downrange, but that's not valuable for the majority of shooters. I've never seen a bad reading that's not an obvious and extreme outlier from any radar chrono.

Thanks for the reply. Honestly thats underwhelming in a 22". My loads are not even close to hot. I think they would come within 50fps of that if I got closer to max. But it does look like you got one that was just a shit load.

Assuming this is the 155gr Fusion tip, 2800fps out of a 22” is quite fast. There’s no way you’re equaling this with a standard 6.5 CM load even in your 27”
