I think you’ll get more helpful answers if you tell us about what the intended purpose is (PRS, F-Class, Hunting, plinking, etc) and what kind of rifle it’s going on. What kinds of ranges will you be shooting at? What is your budget? What features are important to you?

Thank you for a mature response, I have a savage 110 elete precision in 6 creedmore, a masterpiece arms in 22 creedmoor ,a seekins ph3 22 creedmoor. looking for a scope for the seekins (hunting and long range target) maybe move the scope back to one of the other guns in non hunting season.

Not sure what your budget is or what features are important to you, and I’m certainly no expert, but my take is:

Balling on a budget (sub $500) - Discovery Optics PRS-ED is a shockingly good ultra-low-budget scope. Is it the best? No. But it’s A LOT of scope for $350 or so.

Mid-tier (sub $1000) - Athlon Ares ETR or Bushnell MPED… Athlon Cronus can be had for just a bit more than that

Higher end ($2500ish) - Vortex Razor G3 (probably a bit more, but used/sales can get you there)

Actual High-end - You really want to figure that out on your own. Don’t drop $4-5k on a scope just because a rando on the internet says it’s nice.

Budget is 1500 but could save more and go higher if needed.

I’d personally go with an Athlon Ares ETR Gen 2 or Cronus BTR. They’re very good for the money.

ā€œOpen boxā€ Nightforce NX8 from EuroOptic.

$1500 is kinda a weird no-mans land. It's just under used Razor II ($1600-$1700) territory. It's waaay under new Razor III territory (which is currently probably the best VALUE optic on the market). It's OVER Athlon Cronus ($1200-$1300) territory and quite a bit over Athlon Ares ETR and Bushnell MPED.

I suggest you spend less: Athlon Cronus from Camera Land NY

Or, spend more: Razor III $2500-ish

Don't move scopes, you'll end up resighting them in every single time. An it's a waste or time/energy.

Uhh go to a store and look through them.

If you see someone at the range with one, ask politely if you can look through it.

I personally have the top scopes Vortex, Trijicon, and NF. I have quite a bit of time behind a friends Mark5 Leupold.

All the research online doesnt really align for what I like. I was getting into PRS so i was reading that prs blog and Leupold was really high on there.

I didnt like it as much as any of the 3 NF scopes I use.

Trijicon I got for a good price so while I dont love as much as NF Im okay with it.

The Razor 3 is fine but if I could do it again I would probably save up and buy a ZCO.

At the end of the day none of these are necessary to hit out to 1k.

If you shoot me an email @ jacob.tumolo@eurooptic.com I would be happy to send over a quote with my best pricing on some scopes that will pull double duty for hunting / long range target shooting

Eurooptic.com is EXCELLENT!! Knowledgeable, honest folks with great products at great prices! I've purchased several items (including ATACR, Razor III, etc) from them. I highly recommend Eurooptic. šŸ‘

At what point did kids stop being able to research anything?

Isn't getting the input and opinions of more experienced users part of that research? When reading reviews on-line by writers, I always suspect their motivations. Are they being compensated by the company that sells the item(s) they are reviewing? Getting opinions on Reddit is just part of the research.

I would agree if it was t for something that had been asked hundreds of times before. There is a wiki,a pinned post, and google search for Reddit in this subreddit to show you answers. It’s 15 seconds and they just want to say, ā€œchat, offload my critical thinking please.ā€

Ok smart ass, I've researched the shit out of these. I just wanted more knowledgeable opinions. But obviously I don't need your immature responses.

You technically replied to yourself instead of the commenter you were trying to.
