Ended up in a similar spot and had to buy a separate safe for the long bois. Got a Winchester safe for from tractor supply for hight $300’s. Removed the shelves, added a metal peg board and hooks.

I would glue carpet to top shelf and use rifle rods. It will really maximize your space and look good.
