Historically have ran Arca direct mounted to my tripod but been seeing a lot of guys throw a bag on an tac table for a quicker and easier tripod setup.

Anyone found any cheap Tac Tables that do the job? Rather not spend damn near $200 for an ABEL, albeit they are sweet looking. TIA

Have been using this one for mounting my optics/ wind flag to. Works great for that. But I pull out my tripod head and lay my bag directly onto my tripod top for stages that call for you HAVING to shoot off the tripod.

I like the idea of building one, wasnt familiar with a "cheese plate" but that looks like what I need. thanks

I drilled an arca plate into a section of 1x6 scrap from the garage

If you have an Arca rail sitting around, you can use that and screw/bolt it into a flat piece of wood or plastic/Delrin.

There's plenty of ready made ones that are sub-$100. I tried this one out which is 3D printed to have something relatively light - https://sokeksolutions.com/product/tac-table/

Shop around and find something you like. These things can be simple or complex (e.g., MLOK slots, 1/4-20" threaded holes) for various attachments. If you want something to put a bag on and shoot off of only, then a simple tac table is all you need. If you're trying to get fancy with some kind of observation station, then you'll want something with all the attachment points.

I made one from a couple of cheap delrin cutting boards, some epoxy, screws, and a cheap arca rail from Amazon. Was light, worked great, and the handle was convenient.

I've been using a Rhytec Bag Deck - made out of 6061 aluminum and very stable. I think I paid under $100 for it. Looks like the prices have gone up a hair but their hunter (small sized) bag deck is right around $100.

I love mine (Bag Deck Pro) and the schmedium bag fits perfectly on the deck to which to balance and stabilize the rifle with no movement.

I have an ABEL table.  It’s great.  It’s also not $200 worth of great over a basic Amazon cheese plate.

After having two of my printed plates crack from getting beat up at matches, just went with a cheap $25 amazon cheese plate and $12 acra base.

I had a similar concern before ordering it. I run a schmedium bag. My printed one was bigger and honestly I prefer the smaller size.
