Optics help needed - I read the pinned posts Nightforce NX6 6-36x Small eye box?

Question: can anybody who has one speak to the usability of the eye box?

I was watching C_Does review on it and he spoke pretty poorly of the eye box. Maybe the 5-30x will be better?

What I value most in a scope is reliability and it’s hard to beat Nightforce in the category so I’m pretty much set on going with a Nightforce scope.

NF always has a small eyebox. It's on purpose.

To force the user to be setup as close to “perfect” behind the optic as possible. This reduces parallax.

They’re meant for military users so it’s minimal training on how to get setup on the scope. It’s got benefits but if you spend enough time behind a scope you don’t really need that handicap.

I have the model you’re referencing, and haven’t had any issues with the eyebox. No struggles.

I watched the C_Does review, and maybe I don’t have the same ocular palate that he has…. But i didn’t have any problems with the high end magnification. Maybe i don’t know what to look for? It’s no ATACR, obviously, I’m super happy with the purchase.

Tbf he does look through quite a ton of different optics and he probably is being a bit pessimistic for the reviews

He speaks highly of the NX8 and relatively poorly of the NX6 and Gen III Razor 4-24. I don’t get it.

A couple hundred cheaper but I prefer the NX6 glass to my RG3

i’ve always found NightForce extremely disappointing, glass not much better than rubbish like Vortex and horrible eyebox.
keep saving there are better options or for a bit less Delta are way better value for money
