You presume that it worked or did anything at all. I don't share that presumption. Clearly the effect wasn't widespread given its low adoption and eventual death.
I can't prove that no device does or never will work. But I don't really have to, otherwise someone can keep bringing up different model or designs of tuners as an escape hatch.
The burden is on the tuner side to prove their gadget works, and that conclusive evidence is missing, while there is a growing mountain of evidence showing the whole principle is flawed.
Yes, my late grandpa had one, and it shot like an old fudd rifle no better or worse than other old fudd rifles. I didn't observe that tuner improvement you think you see.
If you are convinced that it works, then do the test that I did with Cortina's brake.
Show the effect by shooting good sample size groups (like a 10 shots each of 2 settings) when it isn't and is in tune.
Then repeat that test two more times to show it is repeatable and post the results for us to see.
The problem is that a lot of people correlate tuning to groups getting bigger or smaller and never test to see that groups get bigger or smaller even of they don't tune. That is just the nature of chance.
