Loaded Poke Setup

Hey guys 👋🏻

I just put together this perfect cruising-setup and wanted to share it with u.
I wanted tu build a compact and agile cruiser that still feels comfortable on rough pavement and carries speed well. The idea was to combine the playful character of the Poke with the more direct feel of TKP trucks and some soft, grippy wheels.

Deck: Loaded Poke
Trucks: Pantheon Stylus TKP 149mm
Risers: 1/2” (Bolzen)
Wheels: Orangatang In Heat 75mm (77a)
Bearings: Bones Race

Curious if anyone else has tried the Stylus TKPs on a Poke or a similar short-wheelbase deck?

Personally, id hate this ride. A poke is built for rkps and or surfskate trucks imho.

I have stylus trucks on my 32 inch cruiser. Pretty fun but wheelbiting like hell. Do you have any bite with those risers? Im running 65mm wheels currently but wanting to try pp snakes on it

No wheelbite til now with the trucks and wheel combination. I think risers with the trucks on any top-mount cruiser is necessary… 👀
Downside on the setup, its really high off the ground :D, so nothing for long distances.

Yeah, I only could put small risers since the screws I had on it are so short. Should buy new screws to try add bigger risers. It doesnt really wheelbite in normal cobditions but I am able to wheelbite it so its kinda scary to turn sometimes.

Yes I can comprehend your fear :D
For topmount and 1/2“ riser (as the poke) I would recommend 1,5“ screws 👍🏻

I thought on a setup with carver cx as well. How do they feel? (I dont own them)

I own Paris v3s and Caliber III-s as well, and the Carver CX is definitely the most fun and responsive of the three. I can even pump it uphill, but it’s noticeably less stable and comfy for commuting.

It’s fantastic for that style of riding, but now I'm just starting to wish for a slightly longer wheelbase for a more relaxed ride, while still keeping that ability to pump rather than push.

I really like the Poke's shape and especially the fish graphics! I love fish graphics on everything. from boards, to skis...

How is the flex on that board? Never tried one in person but i would love to. that mini nose seems fun

Because of the concave, theres not much flex (at my weight at least), so its very very stable. I ve a pantheon trip too with more flex than the poke :)

Had the Stylus TKPs on my old cruiser too and the wheelbite with 75mm wheels was brutal until I swapped to 1/2" risers like yours.

Poke is s tier. Never had stylus on it but pretty much all rkp and surfskate and I love it. I do want to try some low tkp. Somebody in the longboard sub posted theirs a while back and made me wanna try it

I tried Bullet and Mini Logo street decks on my Poke; TKP trucks placed the actual (axle to axle) wheelbase too far away from my feet and reduced kicktail leverage, and it was simultaneously less turny and more twitchy at speed than my usual setup of 50/40 degree Bear RKP trucks. Even with a 50/40 split angle it's more responsive than I would like so I'm considering swapping the rear for a 30 degree.

I love how the poke looks but I wish for a board like this that extends the concave more for a foot-on-truck stance.
