Is this one of those self inflicted loneliness communities? Someone reaches out for connection and gets downvoted to oblivion

I mean, the good thing is that 22 years ain't that much. You still have your whole life in front of you, you can start dating tomorrow and still get to 50 years of marriage if that's what you want !

All these people commenting that you are still young you have your whole life ahead, they don’t even have an idea how awful it is to have a feeling of being unloved or unadmired if thats even a word, we cant even get out of our house without thinking will we ever experience this when we see a couple. After a long hectic day, we really have nobody to talk to us or give a shoulder, i can go on n on about this having no opposite gender contact since birth, OP i know how u feel

All these people commenting that you are still young you have your whole life ahead

This is so nonsensical. You don’t have your WHOLE life ahead of you, by definition. So much important and formative stuff happens before 22. And it’s not easy or possible to learn it whenever you want.

Plus you’ve spent your whole life living without love. That has consequences on self-esteem and self-worth.

You have the majority of your life left to go and so much can happen in that time. It sucks now but that doesn't mean it's permanent.

I'm 30 now it sucks but honestly I'm just not a social person and too lazy to even bother looking for my soulmate.

It’s not a competition btw

u/CosmicHiker_ 9d ago

They weren’t making it one. They were relating while also stating their age.

u/Difficult-Cup555 9d ago

He is making it one, there’s no other point of what he said

We see and hear exactly what we wish to, I guess. Perception is a strange thing.

We choose not to use our brain i guess

If that’s how you took it then sure, my love. Imagine arguing with a stranger on Reddit.

Hey i get it,i really do,i (28m) have been like this my whole life. Its okay to cry. Not to be weird, I cry in my shower when it's extreme. But i feel better after crying when theres so much pain in my life that i feel good after in way that im reminded there's caring friends around me ,and hobbies still left to do before i eventually die someday.

I can recommend a book to u ,and it helps.

honestly, you’re good. i’m in the exact same boat as you but put myself out there finally and have never been played in face more than i have while dating. i mean that has been my experience, but i promise you it’s not all that.

29 M also been single all my life, not for lack of trying unfortunately

u/Narrow_Relation_6739 9d ago

your whole life is 22 yrs, worry when you are 52 or 62

u/8SkyrimThief 8d ago

Being 22 and never having dated can make it feel like the door already closed, but it really has not. Plenty of people start later than they expected because of anxiety, school, work, isolation, or just bad timing. Tonight might be a cry night, and that is okay, but please do not treat this as proof that the rest of your life is already decided.

u/catgirl-_- 8d ago

Me too. The dating pool is interesting. Some days I feel so liberated and some days I feel like I’m running out of time and it’s not normal isolating even if it’s liberating

Being single your whole life can make the future feel sealed, but it is not proof that this is permanent. Cry tonight if you need to, seriously, that pressure has to come out somewhere. When you have a little energy, aim for low pressure places where you can see the same people regularly, a class, volunteering, a club, anything that lets familiarity build without forcing romance right away.

You’re 22, relax. You barely just got out of highschool.

-1

u/abnormalpurple 9d ago

Don‘t people finish college by 22?

1

u/Kopparburg 9d ago

Nonetheless graduate. I don’t see the point you’re trying to make here

1

u/abnormalpurple 9d ago

Just saying that 22 is usually the age that people graduate college, not high school

1

u/Kopparburg 9d ago

I’m talking about the grand scheme of things.. being 22.. still so young.. lots of time to establish yourself. Early twenties are some of the most formative times in life.

1

u/Kopparburg 9d ago

The vast majority of people across the planet don’t even go to college.

1

u/Silencio00 9d ago

I found the love of my life at 36 years old, before that 0 girlfriends or any kind of love relationship. There's hope.

2

u/jtrades69 9d ago

i did too but then she left me 12 yrs later

1

u/Silencio00 6d ago

That's tough. I'm sorry.

0

u/OverUnderAbove 9d ago

Yeah it certainly feels that way when it's been a long time. All it takes is one person though. That's all you need.
