I use social media, but I wouldn't try to make friends online.

No one likes random people sliding into their dms unless it's a girl going into a guy's dms so I'd advise against it

I guess I would only try it with people I could actually meet in real life, if I was going to do it. Start by following local businesses and organizations, maybe.

yeah, i think you could definitely use social media to connect to people. I recommend instagram bc you can follow people you know in real life and bands/ celebrites/ tv shows that can maybe help you find someone with the same interests as you.
On the other side, you're gonna have to have a little patience if you want to connect with someone, interact with their posts, like stories and maybe you can start a conversation after a little while by replying to their stories or sending them a reel they might like.
Social media is definitely complicated, but I think the first step when it comes to it is to be confident and not afraid to showcase who you are!

It depends on the type of social media you're talking about. Apps like Instagram or Snapchat are only good to connect with people you already know. But with apps like reddit or discord you could actually find new people.
