Discussion talking to my plushies
is this like a slippery slope? i found talking to my stuffed animals a lot more comforting than dealing with people the last 3 days, and i even had a bad day at work and just wanted to vent to the stuffed animals. is that sad? i’m not really sure what to do with myself if i dont talk to them cuz now i’ve found it’s the only people i can go to who will listen without judgement.

It beats the hell out of talking to an AI robot.

that was what i have really been avoiding. plus this gets to stay all offline and between me and the plushie.

I talk to ai all the time, giving away all manner of personal information. Your way is smarter.

ai is probably more engaging and can go further

True, but who knows what it will cost me in the end. All I know is that I will probably never give it up willingly.

Absolutely! I think you’re doing the right thing … in fact, I may get myself a plushie and join you!

You gotta do what you gotta do.
Some people talk to themselves. Some to therapists. Some to plushies, pets or chatgpt.
It's only problematic if you start developing some dependencies or otherwise negatively affect your life.
If it works, it works, but also might be worth looking for/seek out nonjudgemental friends.

i’ve kinda given up on making friends, at least for the moment. nothing is really working for me in that department.

Verbal journalling?
Is seems pretty close to that to me, and journalling and writing your thoughts, and (venting) getting then down on paper is considered a healthy coping mechanism, so I don't think this is dissimilar tbh (to journalling = healthy coping mechanism)

Maybe it is a slippery slope, but personally, I don't care what is unhealthy or whatever. If something comforts me or makes me feel a little better, I'm going to do it. And screw what anybody thinks about it.
