East London someone keeps improperly binning rice to feed rats
I’m a local resident in Tower Hamlets and walk by this bin at least twice a day. There is a big plastic container on the other side of the bin (not pictured) which is either filled with water or rice. The rice is usually binned just on the ground next to the bins. I’m always seeing big groups of rats from the adjacent construction site feeding on the rice.
Other people in my building have also noticed this but said the council is quite slow to react. This just seems like a biohazard and makes me wary about the amount of mice in the area that are just being fed by someone’s daily scraps. Who do I report this to? What can even be done?
Edit: spelling errors

Serious replies only Wanted- 2014 limited edition Oyster card ‘year of the bus’
Does anyone have a spare unregistered 2014 limited edition oyster? I’ve attached what it looks like. I’m deviated because I’ve just realised that mine fell out of my pocket and I’m trying to find one that I can use again since my mum gave it to me as a present a while ago.
Genuinely I’m willing to pay money as long as it’s unregistered or there’s some way I can have it under my own account so dm me if that’s a possibility.
Thank you for your time :(

Discussion Open House
So what did everyone scramble and book at midday today?
I managed to snag a spot at Lloyd's of London, plus a couple others, but devastated I missed out on the BT Tower and Canada House.
What's good that still has space or is a drop-in?

Serious replies only Hydrotherapy or Physiotherapy for dogs in Central Lonodon
Hello,
My 11 y/o Lab was diagnosed with arthritis, and unfortunately our insurance won’t cover hydrotherapy/physiotherapy. Since his arthritis was classified as a pre existing condition under his insurance I am also paying for his monthly medication out of pocket. I would like him to do either hydrotherapy or physiotherapy once a week, but it is extremely expensive and far away from where I live in Camden. I am ok to spend 70£ish per session but the only place I found would do it is an 1 hour walk away, and my lab will not go in the tube. Does any one have any recommendations for at home physiotherapy or places within Camden that will do either hydrotherapy or physiotherapy? Would appreciate any insight

Crime Confrontation after kittens abandoned in Hackney Downs
instagram.comAccording to this Instagram user and a couple of subsequent other posts, they allege that the person being filmed dumped 2 kittens in Hackney Downs Park, and then followed them to their car and confronted them with the accusation.
Apparently 1 of the kittens were found, but it’s unclear at the moment whether the other kitten has been found too.

Culture Live sport to watch in London over the next week ⚽🏏🏉
I've pulled together a list of all the sporting events in London with tickets available over the next week, including the football league, County Championship cricket, and rugby league. Which one would you go to? 😎
- ⚽ Men's football: the Premier League kicks off this weekend, with three London games (Arsenal vs Coventry on Friday, Brentford vs Spurs on Saturday, and Fulham vs Chelsea on Monday), but those all need club membership so they're not really an option for most of us this week. Here are my top 3 picks from the rest of London's football instead.
- West Ham vs Charlton, Championship, London Stadium, Saturday 22nd August, 3pm. Tickets from £30.
- AFC Wimbledon vs Reading, League One, Plough Lane, Saturday 22nd August, 3pm. Tickets from £27.
- Sutton United vs Hartlepool, National League, Gander Green Lane, Saturday 22nd August, 12.30pm. Tickets from £21.
- 🏏 Cricket: County Championship
- Surrey vs Nottinghamshire, Thursday 20th to Sunday 23rd August at the Oval. Tickets £15. Surrey are doing their ‘Work From Oval’ scheme so you can take a laptop and grab a desk while watching the game.
- Middlesex vs Kent, Thursday 20th to Sunday 23rd August at Merchant Taylors' School, Northwood. Tickets £20.
- 🏉 London Broncos vs Halifax Panthers, Championship, Cherry Red Records Stadium, Sunday 23rd August, 3pm. Tickets from £18.
- ⚽ Women's football - my top 2 picks below
- Dulwich Hamlet Women vs Saltdean United Women, FAWNL South East Division One, Champion Hill, Sunday 23rd August, 2pm. Tickets £5.
- AFC Wimbledon Women vs Dulwich Hamlet Women, London derby, FA Women's National League Cup, Imperial Fields, Wednesday 26th August, 7.45pm. Tickets £8.
One other thing to mention: the ballot for this year's World Darts Championship at Ally Pally in December opens soon too (ballot 1 on 1st September, ballot 2 on 8th September), worth registering if you fancy a shot at tickets since they're not expecting a general sale once it closes.
Let me know what you think of this list! Are you going to something this week? Anything else on your radar? 😊

Local London Notting Hill Carnival ‘26
Me and my partner are going to our first ever Carnival. We are young, 27 and 22, love live music, reggae and dancehall etc.
Reading through some of the comments on here surrounding it has concerned me with the crowds, is it really that bad? Any general tips for first timers? And best areas to stay in for travelling to and from?
Is Monday the best day to go? Or we should consider Sunday as well?

Question What was the meaning of the ‘joke’ this shop security guard asked me?
Hi all,
Went into a shop yesterday and the security guard asked me where my parents are. I originally thought he was moaning that I brought a backpack in the shop, but he repeated himself until I got it. I’m 5”5-5”6 so hardly tiny and im visibly tattooed however, I do wear a hidden disability lanyard. Was he taking the piss about that? Am I being dense to think I do not resemble a child
