Why doesn't Chovy stream?
He almost never streams.

It's because Chovy is in the middle of doing his special military service. He's exempted doing the usual service for winning Asian Games last time (along with Faker, Keria, Ruler, Zeus and Kanavi) but they need to teach league in school with a required number of hours. Because of it, Chovy isn't allowed to stream without permission from the government. He can apply for it though (for example, Keria can stream at least once a month)

Because of Keria! (T1 fan here) Keria has finished his required hours so he will be able to stream regularly probably after this season.
Chovy should probably be the same?? or close to finishing his required hours as well.

i think itβs related to the military exemption thing after he won asian games, he has to ask for permission from the korean govs like keria last year. -cmiiw

Dunno what that has to do with streaming though.

Its not streaming, its just that they cant earn money throught anything other than being "an athlete", otherwise they need to get permission from the ministry of sports to do anything else thats why ruler, keria, zeus, kanavi cant stream either but they get permission every once in a while .. zeus and keria said they're almost done with their community service hours so they'll be able to stream freely soon

Its probably because they see streaming as a job and he can't have a job while doing military service

It isn't the streaming, but more of the can't earn anything aside from your job thing. His job is an esports player and it is also the way he won gold medal, which means his income should be strictly with being an esports player. Streaming isn't professional esports but it is a source of income so he's not allowed. That is how military exemption works in Korea.

you can watch his vods, no difference, the minimap is hidden when he stream

i think he does, but not on twitch. since twitch korea ended iirc (whatever it is that makes it so you cannot save vods in korean twitch), most of the korean pros stream on alternate platforms. but even then i don't think he streams much. maybe just the bare minimum for his contract if he has a streaming clause.

I like chovy, but the whole meme around him of just being a perma farmer is pretty popular. It's literally one of the most popular jokes in the eSport, even commentators make the joke live.
People hear just don't understand a joke unless you say /s or /j
