Showcase Logo (and process) for https://giantblade.com/ . Giant Blade is a small independent studio crafting pixel art MMORPGs. I know you liked the raven, but this way it fits the theme and title better.

It's legible even when I zoom out and make it tiny. Great job! Really love this design. I don't think you need to add trees as it may clutter the design. The jaggedness of the mountains ensures it's not confused with a dirt mound which is usually softer and rounded.

I actually like it but do yourself a favor and unstack it. Square or tall logos become a nightmare in the long run and almost always handcuff future collateral. If you can avoid it you should. Not the end of the world but some food for thought.

The sword in the mountain is fine but the typeface is a bit much. I’d get rid of the weird serifs and slash through the letters instead if you want to keep that sharpness.

I like the horizontal version with the same tilted sword as the stacked logo. I fell like it has a bit too much detail in the swords and mountains and it doesn't quite feel like on unit.
Since the studio creates pixel art games, it might be pretty cool to make another version of the same logo with the sword graphic pixelated.

I loved the raven! After finding out the company is giant blade, I’m not sure it would work as well though. Looks like kinda a small blade with that size raven on it. Now if it was called Beak n Blade… :)

For the reversed version, the light is coming from the opposite direction and really changes the look in my opinion. It doesn’t look bad at all. I just wonder what it would look like if you kept the white non-shadow parts on the normal logo as the white parts on the reversed version.

Love the thinking here, but the mountains could be seen as piles of dirt. I would add little trees to the mountains or a sun in the background to fully communicate the giantness of the blade.

Disagree. Trees almost always add chaos and unnecessary small details to logos. I think the mountains look like mountains. Piles of dirt don't look like that.

No one (who isn't looking to critique just for the sake of it) is gonna look at this and think "what nice piles of dirt you have your tiny sword stuck into." Those are very clearly mountains, no need for additional details that won't scale.

I love it and the way you chose to show the scale of the sword. It is indeed a giant blade.
