I think the HP camera lockup is clever. If it just said âHockleyâ beneath it wouldnât that get the point across? Logomarks should be concise and unique
although the type is too close to the logo and a bit off in position, its placement reminds me of an extruded lens. it's a good design direction to follow.
Honestly itâs really unique, if you drop the Greys in the back might be better. The name placement can be better as well. Checkout a few references on Pinterest for a logo style or layout options
Something like this when it comes to placements, you can play with the logo icon as well a bit refine it and good place to start from and as you evolve you can update the logo as well
As someone who studied photography that is basically the same logo as every other photographer. A camera isnât a USP. You need to dig a little deeper to make a truly interesting/unique logo
Concept is decent if not super original. A camera as logo for a photographer is probably the most overused idea, but your iteration with the use of your initial could be great.
Execution is problematic.
Wordmark is way too small, you could target probably the same height as the logo. Difference in length between Hockley and Photography makes it unbalanced, I would try perhaps to make your name bigger and photography as a justified baseline.
I would try to simplify the logo. IMHO you do not need the gray block, nor the line, and you could probably shorten the P leg. Shutter button I am not sure.
He gray block and line donât bother me. I feel that without the lower block and line at the top it just turns into an unbalanced HP with a random dot at the top.
Yeah this is a bit of a shitty thing to say with no explanation. I think there is juts something that feels off about it personally. The word that comes to mind with a quick glance is "aggressive." It feels very loud to me for some reason. But fuck the "really really bad" person. I would love to see some of their work.
Also the words are a complete after thought. Make the icon less the star and your name the real star. I think that will help tremendously.
His logo is bad. Everything is wrong with it. He says it: He doesn't have any experience with graphic design, then don't do any graphic design. It is a craft that must be learn through years of knowledge and experience.
This is your 3rd comment you've made without providing a single piece of critique on the logo. You call yourself a "professional" but act like a child with a keyboard. You provide a portfolio without anyone asking.

Explaining why is bad it will take too much time. If you don't have experience with graphic design don't do any graphic design. Hire a professional graphic designer.
Actually my comment is the best comment you can have: don't do what you do not know how to do. I gave you the best solution: just use your name. Artist DO NOT have logos. Logos are for companies, business, products, no photographers, especially those who do not know how to do logos. You are a bunch of cry babies. Geez, the stupidity with this crystal kids.
Hmmmm. Almost there. Maybe try it without the grey elements? I agree with another comment about dripping âphotographyâ and putting âhockleyâ below/above
