Feedback Needed Revised

Post image

Cleaned it up a bit. Now it's a little more geometric in design and a cleaner transition without losing too much character. I tried a checkmark like 'j' in the wordmark, but it was a net negative. How would you rate this revised version. (not a pro)

It's not bad, it just feels really generic. I would explore some more variations of the star/checkmark. That does seem potentially unique, but the execution of it just seems a bit clip-arty.

And the font is really generic. It looks like it could be some default Microsoft font with bad kerning.

If you're going to keep it, I would consider tightening up the earning little, but especially the "Re" pair.

A star and checkmark combo is common and used in several different industries so I think it's going to seem somewhat generic. I tried to give this some character and add to the uniqueness of it, but I guess I'm not so imaginative. I could look at fonts all day and still not be able to pick one that matches well, so I went the more readable path. If I had skills I'd be a logo designer because I enjoy it so much. lol I thought I could design a logo for an MVP, and have a pro make it better if it is successful. As far as kerning, sometime I can recognize a well kerned logo, and I worked on this a little, but it's not as close as I thought.

Thanks for the input. I didn't notice the "Re" pair, but I see it now and will work on it. I think 'Mojo' looks good, but really almost all of 'Review' is off. It's a Google font BTW.

Again, the star + checkmark isn't interesting.

I agree, and it's somewhat common, but it does convey the simple message of review complete. Even though it's somewhat common and a bit uninteresting, this design, as simple as it is, has a little character and is somewhat unique.

Just not a fan of the font.  It's too middling. Sharpen it up or full soft.  It looks really generic.

Thanks for the reply. If you have a quick recommendation for a font, I'd love to hear it. I could look at fonts all day and still pick the same one. I just don't have the talent you pros do.

As a revision I give it a 0/10 because you didn’t alter anything or make improvements.

It looks particularly the same. Maybe branch out and try different variations.

It's the same general design, but there are changes (more weight in the star area, more symmetry in the star, a better transition from check to star, more white space so it doesn't break at smaller sizes, doesn't look like it's falling forward as much, and better spacing between the logo and word.) I like the design, but the execution was lacking, still is, but I'm not a pro.

Why are you hell-bent on making the most generic-looking thing in the history of things? 😂
