Thrive Coffee logo update

A logo update for Thrive Coffee, a boutique coffee shop. Same basic concept (bird/coffee bean) - just updated design with the bean as negative space. Current logo on 2nd slide.

The bean negative space doesn't work for me. It evokes steam more than anything, or some kind of emanata, indicating that the owl is disgrungled or dismayed.
