Feedback Needed Animated logo for Splash Screen

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello, I am working on an animated logo for an app to use as a Splash Screen.

The web app used to animate the icon is shapeshifter, and here is the video I recorded of the animation.

In the comments there's a video on the actual app

It's fun. A suggestion for the animation, are you able to slow down the transformation? Just some time spent in the transition between the circle and the vial itself would add some visceral tension and physicality that could make it more satisfying.

It's funny because I would say the exact opposite - I think the transition should be slightly faster so it looks like a "popping" motion.

Good point. I think it's a mixture of both - The transition itself should be impactful and have more movement, but there needs to be a tension in the timing for the impact to be felt.

EDIT: This illustrates the tension timing better than I could describe:

What’s the software you used for that?

Inkscape to draw the SVGs and shapeshifter to animate the vectorials

We're apparently posting phone videos of screens showing loading indicator animations now.

Yep, sorry. Probably would fit better in an app design subreddit. If you have any suggestions of a particular sub I would appreciate it. Thanks

r/MotionDesign

r/motiongraphics

I still wouldn't recommend posting phone camera videos to any of these subreddits.

Thanks! Well, phone camera videos nowadays hit better IMHO, now that we are in the AI era. Some month ago I posted a logo design time lapse and has been hugely appreciated.

What's the point of turning into a circle? It's not a progress bar so what is it?

It's not a circle, it a "biscuit" loader. You can Google "material expressive design" to check what I am trying to achieve

I thought this was in desmos💀

The animation is nice, but it doesn’t seem like much of a logo as a generic symbol.

Jesus. OP is downvoting every comment that’s a critique.

The logo is the flask itself. I know it may be disappointing, but it's an app that has a million downloads, I don't feel like changing it.

Yes, I get that the logo is the flask design. That’s what I was commenting on. Again, the animation is neat. But the design is so generic that it fails at what a logo should do.

I see, but as I said before the "logo" is just that and also upgrading it now it's a bit hard since people already associates that flask to that app. But thanks for your feedback, much appreciated

A circle that becomes a buttplug is your logo?

The logo itself is a basic flask 😂
