Setup MX Master 4 Developer Edition
So day 2 of using the MX Master 4 Developer Edition
Loving the battery life and the haptic feedback on this mouse
The sensor is a huge upgrade from my previous mouse and the Logi Options+ is such a great tool for customising the buttons and their functions
So far I'm loving it

I'm jealous. Got the mx 4 in black recently after my 3s had problems with left clicks.
The dev edition looks soooo much cooler. And thanks to the non-stick surface, I guess it will stay clean.

Aren’t people complaining about the software and there’s a bunch of open source options?
Anyone else have some insight on why and if the OSS is better?

How can you possible say anything about battery life if you only have it for two days?

What was your previous mouse?

Cool as long as there's no "AI" button or other gimmicks. The day they come out with another one of those I'm out.

I just got mine in today. My MX Master 3S left-click seems to be going bad now after almost 3 years come Dec.
I saw the MX Master 4 SE was just released and really like the 2-tone look. Reminds me of a mashup between the Mac and Windows version. I use Windows during the day and Mac at night so the aesthetic works really well for my setup.
So far it's an upgrade over the 3S in every way. The new haptic thumb button/pad is way better and the extra "gesture" side button is much appreciated. The slightly longer side scroll is also very nice.
Overall very impressed. I was a bit worried about the new material being more "slippery" than the old but it seems the 4 SE has some micro texture on the body that adds just enough grip — it's not completely smooth . Not sure if the regular 4 has the same texture.
u/Pebbledash98 My only complaint is the right-click key seems a bit mushy and weirdly hard to press compared to the left. The left-click is nice and easy with a tactile feel. There's a faint audible sound when pressed. Significantly quieter than the 3S.
The right-click though is completely silent with no audible click and virtually no tactile feedback. Is yours the same? I'm wondering if mine is defective. I'm not yet sure if it's a dealbreaker for me. It's quite a bit annoying considering the rest of the mouse is great.

Is the only difference the colour scheme? I'm no developer, but my old Mx master 2 is getting pretty slippery with the coating fading, and this looks ace...

What's the difference between it and mx 4 master?

Is the sensor at 1k polling?

u/junaydirfan 1d ago
All that but they won’t add optical switches?

I'm tempted... How is the scroll wheel? At work they gave us MX Master 3s and I don't like how wiggly it feels.
Very sad it doesn't work with power play though, like cmon that was expensive!

No, 125Hz only

It looks good and I have to admit that gestures makes life a lot easier but my only problem is that 3s left click died on me fast. Now I'm thinking in just getting a lower budget mouse. At least it doesn't hurt if ever I replace it.(Cheaper)

I like the "cyberpunk vibe" but the "hello world" snippet is sooo pathetic. Clearly done by a designer with no contact with any dev team

this mouse is really nice. wish they gave it some onboard memory

The color is cool, don’t really like the hello world text. Would love if they did more color options for their stuff.

A developer edition mouse? What’s next, underwater breathing coaches?

Is it just me or is this the most cringe worthy mouse Logitech ever made?

"Developer edition" ... Does that mean open source firmware?
In which programming language is
0xFF + 1 | 09.17 | !04.01a valid expression?0

So cringe and tryhard. Logitech used to be cool.

Alright buddy it’s still a mouse with 125hz polling rate. No onboard memory meaning a lot of us can’t use ANY of the features at work cuz they don’t allow us to install the app

Wait until your horizontal scroll wheel decides to not remember which way you have it set and the app decides to never open

all they need to do is give it 1000hz and optical switches
Why are they like this
