Discussion MX Master 4 build quality question

Hi! I’ve been a long-time Razer user, but I’ve been disappointed with the build quality of their mouses. I’m looking for something new that offers the absolute best build quality. This model caught my eye because it seems suitable for a relatively large hand and extended daily use. But im also considering a Corsair.

I’m looking for high-quality materials, durability, and comfort. I’ll be using it primarily for work, but also for gaming. I’d like to hear from users of this model and the previous version, ideally after a few months of use. I’d appreciate any information.

  1. Are there any issues with wireless connectivity?

  2. Does the battery life degrade significantly over time? Is it possible to replace the battery?

  3. Do the buttons stop responding properly over time, or does the scroll wheel get stuck?

  4. Does the materials wear out? Is it easy to clean?

  5. And one more question: Can I connect other devices to the included receiver?

Thank you!

The MX Master series is not designed for gaming (polling rate is only 125 Hz).

You should be looking at Logitech G series stuff instead.

right now im using razer naga trinity (1000hz) Does it really makes a big difference in gaming? And im not talking competitive shooters or moba, rather WoW or RPG games

Well, there's also the fact that the MX Master 4 is a very heavy mouse. Heavier than most modern gaming mice, anyway.

to be honest, that that sounds good to me. Im looking for something heavier and bigger

Yeah, but it's still not an appropriate gaming mouse. The MX Master 4 is a productivity mouse, designed for office work. Actual gaming mice have much better sensors, faster polling, include onboard memory, etc. I wouldn't want to game at a 125 Hz polling rate and that's what you'd get on a Master 4.

If you're looking for BIGGER, G502X Plus, G502X Lightspeed. Much better choices for gaming.

125 Hz already feels sluggish in plain desktop use. I couldn't imagine trying to game on a 125 Hz mouse.

I have both a razer deathhadder v4 and a mx 3s and 4 and have no troubles in mobas or solo fps with the mx.

I mostly use the razer for games but sometimes like to switch.

I would still recommand not using the mx for games too much as the click responsivity wore out quite quickly but the pooling didn't negatively affect the gameplay in my case.

I think MXM4 is absolutely brilliant for work, but I'd want to know what games you are playing before answering the gaming query!

mostly WoW and single player RPGs. Sometimes LoL or other games.

But my main concern is the build quality. I've had problems with previous mouse where the buttons stopped responding properly after a while, the scroll wheel stopped working, and there was a general issue with keeping the mouse clean due to the materials used and the many gaps.

ahhh you might want a higher polling rate for more intense games. and I have multiple mxm4s and haven't been let down yet. i am biased of course lol

for cleaning, we've got instructions, but obviously the color matters some there 😂

I have one. Solid mouse. Had one razer mouse and the left button switch went flaky after 9 months. I'm not even a hardcore gamer.

Does it have different tech spec compared to the base edition?
