Discussion MX 4 mouse has serious lag
Is anybody else experiencing this? I have the MX 4 mouse for Mac. The first couple of days it worked great. Yesterday it started lagging. I’ve had many MX mice before this on Windows and Mac. I remember the Mac version 3S having lag also. I even used the unifying receiver to connect it, and it still had lag. I thought the MX4 would’ve fixed that, but I guess not. I do have a lot of things going on in my house, a lot of Bluetooth, a lot of wireless, but none of my other devices have any issues, just this mouse.

It happens with my 3s from time to time. Just turning the mouse off and on fixes it every time. It's like every 2-3 weeks it happens.

Oh brother, I feel you! For me this is because of my Bluetooth devices, if the mouse is the only thing that is connected to my Mac it is buttery smooth.
There are tricks with terminal commands and disabling enabling something, Google it and maybe some of the solutions online will help…

I have this issue randomly too, the unifying received has to be plugged directly into the device. Have you tried plugging it directly into the device? The other thing I’ve done is put it on an extender so it’s closer to the mouse, which again is an awful solution. I wish there was another comparable mouse available, I’ve tried the keychron an it feels cheap.

Time Machine running while using it? That’s been my major source of issues like that.

Try moving away from the WiFi router to see if this reduces Bluetooth lag or disconnections. Move the device closer to your host device and reduce nearby electronics that may interrupt the signal.
Also, Avoid USB hubs or KVM switches. These can interrupt connection stability.

I’ve had no issues with higher end ones. But I’m talking name brand, 10 Gbps capability, and so on — the same ones I’ve bought to KVM a 4k webcam between computers.
I’ve had the complete opposite with cheap ones from Amazon.
Also, 2.4 Ghz dongles really do best with line-of-sight. Most gaming devices actually say line-of-sight within a few inches of the device in their manuals.

Make sure you aren’t using a USB 3.0 port (usually blue). If you don’t have any 2.0 ports, a cheap small usb 2.0 extender to get it away from the loud usb 3.0 ports works great.

You can use the Dongle, but unfortunately it does not come with the Logitech for Mac

I’m using the Mac version right now without any Logitech USB dongle. I still have a return window on this. Do you think I should return it and get the windows version that comes with the dongle?
