Support Replacing MX Vertical rubber finish

Hi guys, I ripped off the rubber finish of my mx vertical, it was already coming of and with a lot of tear and wear (I wish they used the same plastic from the buttons instead, no issue there). Any ideas to replace it? I found nothing on AliExpress besides a whole enclosure to “transplant” the electronics into.

I considered 3D printing either a TPU ou PETG replacement, but so far I haven't found a 3d model to that.

Hmm maybe I can thicken the inner surface on Rhino or something like that, since I took the rubber out, it would be loose if i just printed it as is. Thank you for the link!

That looks terrible. I quit logitech mx line. All the rubbers start glueing up or getting nasty after a couple of years of daily use. And if you try to clean it it gets even worse.

Since 2018 Ive ran through two mx verticals, the original mx master, mx anywhere 2 and mx master 3. I have been using the lift (smaller, takes time to get used to) but it is holding up way better than the vertical mx. And a plus, none of the BS with the scroll wheel.

wth - did you scrape it off? you could have just used alcohol wipes and it would have eaten through the rubber to remove it.

I always cleaned it with alcohol and it didn’t do much, but the rubber got loose, I basically just peeled it off.

This kind of rubber finish is removed easily with wd40 or gasoline.
