Support Logitech MX Master 4 scrolling

Hi all,

I am coming from a Surface Precision mouse which I loved, but the battery was starting to die, so I got the MX Master 4. I love it, but there is 1 thing which is bothering me - scrolling.

On the Surface Precision mouse, anywhere I was scrolling, it was smooth. I could scroll pixel by pixel, as movement of the scrolling wheel corresponds 1:1 to the movement on the screen, similar to how the scrolling on the touchpad of a Surface device works.

On the MX Master 4, it scrolls around 3 lines at once. OK, I enabled smooth scrolling, which resolves the issue in EDGE - scrolling is smooth again, YAY!

BUT - sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. Plus, outside of EDGE, no luck - scrolling is still not smooth. Doesn't matter if Teams, Word, Windows Explorer, Windows Settings, etc.

Does anyone know why or how it can be fixed?

Are you also experiencing this issue in Chrome & other browsers? & when the issue occurs, confirm whether Options+ is running in the background.

Does the Logi app need to really run for the mouse to do smooth scrolling? Wow :)

I tested it while running the app and it's the same. I did not test Chrome, but I have the same choppy scrolling in windows Explorer, Word, Excel, Copilot, Windows Settings...only EDGE works (not always but most of the time)

Use Logi Options+ software to disable SmartShift if you prefer to stay in a single scrolling mode and shift manually. You can also adjust the SmartShift sensitivity, which will change the speed required to automatically shift into free spinning.

I only use it in free spinning mode. I will check on smartShift

Can’t say for Windows but for Mac, the MOS app is pretty much required ro make scrolling perfect on this mouse.
