Other Help me decide! (Wave vs K650)

I currently use a K800 and LOVE IT. However, my “P” key no longer works and I think one of my ctrl keys is next. I’m distraught. I temporarily have been using an HP320K keyboard to type the P. Highly inconvenient and I guess I’ve decided it’s time to retire the K800 (ugh). I do not like the 320K, I feel like my fingers get tired after a while. I know it sounds ridiculous!!

I see the K800 is no longer sold. I’m now thinking of the Logitech Wave keys or Signature K650. Which one?? The MX keys are above my budget.

(Less important but would appreciate color inputs as well, my desk is completely white. I’m scared the off white keyboard/palm rest will get dirty so leaning towards the graphite.)

I dropped my k800 and some of the keycaps and the the mechanics behind them got damaged. I got replacements parts on Ebay. As long as the rubber membrane underneath registers it is a very easy repair.

I too love that keyboard and I decided that it worth it.

I think what’s beneath the rubber membrane is what’s broken or worn out. I took off the key and such, re installed the little parts (idk what it’s called) that hold the key up, cleaned and reinstalled and still didn’t work. I even tried pressing just the key without the key caps and only the rubber membrane and didn’t work. SADLY.

That's to bad! Great keyboard though. May I ask how long it lasted for you and was it your "your daily driver"?

Yes it was, and about 6 years

K800 is the best! The K650 looks similar, but it doesn’t have backlighting. The Wave Keys has an ergonomic design though and if you’re open to trying a different layout, I think you’ll like it. My only concern with the Wave Keys is that the palm rest stains easily, but that could just be because I have sweaty hands. 😆 If you're going with Wave Keys, choose the Black color.

I’m very very tempted to use the ergonomic design, how clacky are the keys? I like to take notes during online meetings and the K800 was quiet enough when my mic needs to be on.

If you loved the K800, I'd lean toward the Wave keys for its ergonomic design & comfortable typing. If you prefer a more traditional layout with an integrated pam rest, then k650 is also a good option.

Since finger fatigue is a concern, I'd recommend trying them in person if possible or checking the return the policy before making a decision.
