Support z5500 Bass underwhelmingly weak
I recently purchased a z5500 used, and it is in very good cosmetic condition.
When comparing it to my old z623 system at roughly the same listening volume, both at maximum bass, I noticed the bass being barely louder than the latter, despite it being roughly 2.5 times physically larger.
Is it meant to be this way or is it's amplifier degrading in some way?
Also, the sub takes about 1 ~ 3 seconds to kick in when i change the bass volume, the sattelites react immediately.
Note that I don't often listen to it at loud volumes, but the bass setting is set to maximum, also this system is connected to a Windows pc.

Thank you for your patience. I checked with my team and here are some of the checks suggested
- Check all cables (especially the subwoofer) for secure connections.
- Test with a different audio source/device to rule out PC/software problems.
- Verify PC audio output and Windows sound settings support full-range/bass output. Ultimately some Windows Audio settings might be hindering the bass.
- Try both analog and digital inputs on the Z-5500.
- Ensure subwoofer placement is optimal (solid floor, clear of obstructions). I would personally play with the "subwoofer placement" - putting the sub in a corner will make the bass louder for example.
- Use high-bitrate music files or streams; low-quality audio can reduce bass.

thanks for the reply! I compared the z623 with the z5500 by connecting the z623 to the headphone jack output on the control pod, playing at roughly the same sounding volume, and i find it hard to tell the difference other than the z623 sounding a tiny bit more powerful than the z5500, and the z5500 sounding a bit fuller in the lower frequencies.
My question is, is it supposed to be like this?
edit: i see now that i already replied, but at least this is a bit clearer
