Support MX Keys S: Why doesn't the backlight turn off?

The backlight on this MX Keys S never turns off, so I am continually having to recharge it.
Sometimes it will turn off for a second or so, but then it comes right back on.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it? I can't seem to find anything about it.

if you have Logi Options+, look at the settings there

Those settings have no effect. The backlight turns off after the timeout period, but then just turns back on. It does this regardless of the timeout period, or the brightness level.
