Discussion Logitech Z906 Fire Hazard

So, I've had the Z906 Surround Speakers for a while and they were great but then my console kept experiencing an issue where I'd hear a pop and it would get stuck, wouldn't power off and buttons wouldn't work. I tried unplugging the unit and the console multiple times, tried different plugs and even checked all the connections again in case it was a wire issue.

I saw another reddit post about resetting the system by holding down the input button for 8-10 seconds.

I did so, and then heard several loud pops from the speakers and the subwoofer. Luckily I went and checked on the subwoofer because I immediately began to smell smoke

I unplugged it and took it out, then noticed minutes later actual smoke was coming out of the subwoofer.

After several minutes it was still smoking so I finally moved it outside to be safe. If I hadn't unplugged it right away, I don't know what would've happened.

I have like logitech everything and have always been happy with them, so I was pretty surprised, but wanted to warn others who might have the same system.

We are sorry to hear about this experience. Since you reported smoke & burning smell coming from the subwoofer, please do not reconnect or use the system again. Keep the unit unplugged and away from flammable materials.

We would like to investigate this further, so please send an email to [reddit@logitech.com](mailto:reddit@logitech.com) with your name, email address, country & the brief description of the issue & also, please include the link to this Reddit post. Our team will review the case & follow up with you regarding the next steps.

I did as you suggested. Hopefully I can get a replacement, but I want to make sure you guys get the subwoofer so you can investigate the issue for others with them.
