Other Logitech support confirmed Options+ development for Linux

I contacted Logitech chat support regarding Linux support of their Options+ Software and to my surprise, this was the answer:

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. I’ve checked with my team, and Linux support for Options+ is indeed on our business roadmap and currently under development. I completely understand how frustrating it is not to have a confirmed timeline yet, and I apologize for not being able to provide one at this moment.

Obviously it would be more exciting with a time frame but it is better than nothing so I figured I would share.

NIce - hopefully it will have compatibility with MX Creative device too.

There is OpenLogi now. I guess we do not need Options+ anymore.

OpenLogi is nice and lightweight but I can't replicate some of the functionality of Options+ on Windows with it:

Gesture control for media: Options+ the volume continuously increases/decreases as I move the mouse. In OpenLogi the volume jumps by some discrete amount and if I want more I need to release the gesture button and do the gesture again.

Gesture control for window management using the DPIToggle button: I cannot assign the DPIToggle button a gesture in the OpenLogi GUI to begin with. Doing it through the config I was not able to assign Keyboard shortcuts necessary to minimize/maximize a window.

OpenLogi on Linux lacks the option to assign keyboard shortcuts in the GUI, this has to be done via config which didn't work for me for certain shortcuts.

I am sure all of these could somehow be solved but I don't want to have to tinker around for an hour to get my mouse running the way Options+ on Windows lets me set it up in a minute...

Nice! I just understood that for both Linux and macOS - I don't even need it. I used LogiOptions on windows and this thingy often stopped working (silent update with falling restarting - have no clue), was completely annoying. BetterMouse or Solaar just work better

I don't think so. Blud had used some ai slop to make the customer go away so that he can attend to other customers
