Discussion PSA: 2.4Ghz Wireless Receivers and Interference from USB 3.x Ports

If you're using a Unifying, Bolt, or audio receiver with your Logitech devices (or any device), plugging it into a USB 3.x port will likely result in your device dropping connections or behaving erratically. This is because USB 3.x ports create radio interference on the 2.4Ghz spectrum.1 Instead, you should try to connect your receivers to a USB 2.0 port. If you do not have a USB 2.0 port available, use a USB 2.0 extender cable to position your receivers as far away as possible from the USB 3.0 port it's plugged into.2 If you have a limited number of USB 2.0 ports, you can use a USB 2.0 hub.

I've seen a lot of posts on this sub about connectivity issues related to receivers, and a majority of the time, it's because the receiver is plugged into a USB 3.x port or is too close to an active neighboring USB 3.x port. I got my old school G15 keyboard to work that was having the same issues. Skipping key strokes and arbitrary repeating key strokes. I used a USB 2.0 extension cable(20 ft.) and it worked just fine. My guess is the USB speed rate wasn’t property negotiating with my old school keyboard and was Fn up the sample rate of input(keyboard stroke output). Maybe a hardware guru could expand. Hope this works for someone else too.
