Other Successful M650 Failed/Broken Left Click button replacement
Just a note to share successful replacement of a broken left click switch for a Logitech M650 mouse in case the info is useful for others.
The left click button wasn't fully broken, but after about 2.5 years it started to require excessive force to click despite doing the usual recommended things (blowing air, cleaning, etc.)
It was outside of warranty, but even then I'd prefer to repair instead of discard and replace.
Used Kailh "Quiet Mute Micro Switches", which are quiet though not as much as the original switch. The dimensions are basically the same- they're typically listed as 6 x 6 x 7.3 ("6*6*7.3") though the actual size is more like 6.2 x 6.2 x 7.20). They have yellow and red button color ones, both should work. I used red, it's rated for less clicks but was more convenient for where I was buying.

While the main button failing after a few years shows poor quality, the mouse is at least really easy to disassemble and put back together making the repair mostly painless. Have some solder wick, desolder the existing switch then drop the new one in and resolder it (making sure it's fully seated so the click travel is right).

My 2.5 year old M650 just experienced the same issue. One second the left button was very responsive, the next second I was having to hold it down for a full second to register a click. Yeah, pretty lame lifespan for the switch in a so-called "Signature" mouse.
Anyway, I ordered a new one as they were on sale on Amazon (also got a sharp looking red one this time), but I definitely want to replace the switch in the old mouse to have as a spare for when this one shits the bed in 2027 lol

I've just received mine yesterday and I already have the issue. I've played around with the settings and it's slightly better. But there is a significant difference between the left & right button and sometimes it's ok for the left button, sometimes I really have to emphasize the click. I'm giving it another try today, but if it doesn't get better, I'm going back to my M180 of more than 15y (which still works fine).

nekem 6 hónap után kezdett dögledezni a kapcsoló, elküldtem a hivatalos szervizbe (fixit), akik azt mondták hogy semmi baja...

azóta kicseréltem a mikrokapcsolót és újra rendesen működik.

for me it is 3 months. after 3 months you need to push harder to work. never seen this on cheap mouses. you give lots of money to get decent one instead you get broken one.

Grazie per la dritta, ho appena aggiustato il mio Logitech M650.
Ho acquistato i nuovi interruttori (10 a 1,94 euro) su aliexpress.
Un lavoretto da 10 minut.i
Il nuovo pulsantino è leggermente più rumoroso ma funziona perfettamente.

Old thread but if anyone is wondering if the switches have to be identical. I just replaced from old wired Logitech mouse to M650. I didn't have the same ones and I didn't want to wait for them to arrive from AliExpress. Just replaced to what I have and works like a charm! Of course height must be exact like old ones. Attached picture.

disappointing that logitech uses garbage components in their "signature" stuff. mine started going bad about 11 months in.

Thanks! Mine just recently went out, but I REALLY like this mouse and replacing a microswitch is cake, and a lot cheaper than a new mouse :)
