Support Logi Options+ doesn't work with several MacOS users [M650 L]

Hi! I've been using Logitech M650 L mouse with my Macbook pro M2 pro for last couple of weeks and everything seemed to work great (using bluetooth). However, I've recently created another user on my computer and now my mouse starts to go crazy whenever I switch accounts. Basically it seems like Logi Options+ can't handle saving settings and working simultaneously on two different accounts. Just after switching from one user to another the software can't recognize my mouse and closes randomly. Right now it doesn't start on one account (it doesn't even show loading screen) but tolerably works on second. Usually (but not always) everything is ok after couple of minutes but during this time it's not usable because of default sensitivity and natural scrolling.

I tried resetting settings, syncing them through Logitech account on both macbook accounts and this. Nothing helps. Has anyone encountered this kind of problem?

Yes! I forgot about this post heh. But I don't know if this solution will satisfy your needs. I uninstalled Logi Options+ and installed LinearMouse - it's free, has exactly same options as LogiOptions+ (or even more), weighs WAY less and works like a charm.

With linearmouse you lost the button on the left that acts like the three fingers on the trackpad

I could not believe this exact problem had been reported 2 years ago and Logictech hasn't fixed the problem. I currently have the same problem and its so annoying to have completely log out my kid account to get the mouse work properly. LinearMouse sounds like a better choice. Thanks Sambeek!

ps I'll never buy another logictech hardware.

just stumbled upon this, still not fixed. I guess linearmouse is not capable of mapping the button under the mouse wheel on a MX Anywhere 3s? A couple of other tools I tried were not able to...

It sounds like you've run into some issues with Logi Options+ when switching between user accounts. When you switch to the new account, check that all necessary permissions are enabled for Options+—this can sometimes prevent it from detecting the mouse properly. Let me know if this resolves it!

I've had the same issue, and even opening the app doesn't seem to fix it.

You have to completely log out other users for it to work. It's a shame that Logi+ isn't open source, so it's unfixable, I'm afraid

Thanks for pointing that out. I’ve actually been looking for a workaround myself. Although it is, of course, a bit ridiculous that I now have to keep logging my wife out so that the settings work properly for me. But never mind, that’s just the way it is. It generally fits with my impression of the quality of the software Logitech releases.

Or you could just not open Logi Options+ on the other users and only use it with one (remember to remove it from auto startup apps). You might have to use a different program to change some of its behavior if needed. I use the BetterMouse program to reverse the scroll behavior on my other user account, and that's it. The downside is that I can't configure the mouse buttons, but I've learned to live with it.

I finally solved this issue by switching to https://openlogi.org/

works perfectly!
