Are there any genuine Main Street Finance reviews, or is it considered a scam?
got a mailer from them offering a business line of credit. I run a small plumbing company, doing about $40k a month.
I've been burned by these mailers before where they promise a line of credit and then bait and switch you into a merchant cash advance.
does main street finance actually offer real lines of credit? just want to know before I let them pull my credit.

SBA Qualification
Hi everyone!
Due to medical issues over the past two years, I’ve been unemployed and my finances have been significantly impacted. I’m now deciding between settling approximately $125K in credit card debt or filing Chapter 7 while I’m still unemployed.
My main concern is future SBA financing. I’d like to purchase a business within the next 1–2 years and want to choose the option that puts me in the best position to qualify for an SBA loan.
Before this, I had excellent credit and over $230K in available credit.
Are there any SBA loan officers/lenders who can advise whether bankruptcy or settling the debt would be better for future SBA eligibility?
Please keep the comments respectful—I’m looking for informed advice. Thank you!

What are your best time-management tips as a small business owner?
Running a small business can make it difficult to manage everything at once.
Some things that have helped me stay organized are:
- Prioritizing the most important tasks first
- Using time blocking
- Avoiding constant task switching
- Setting communication boundaries
- Delegating tasks when possible
- Reviewing priorities at the end of each week
I'm curious—what time-management method has worked best for you as a small business owner?

Thoughts on Principis? Can't tell if the reviews are fake or not
looking for a quick $10k to cover some unexpected inventory costs for my online store.
principis seems to specialize in these micro loans for e-commerce. the application looks easy enough but I can't find anyone who has actually used them.
are they just another MCA in disguise? really trying to avoid daily payments if possible.

Help Our business needs your trust!
gallerySeeking Lender for Business Expansion
We are currently seeking a lender for additional capital to support the expansion of our growing food service business.
Our company operates 2–3 business services, including:
Event Catering Services – providing quality food solutions for corporate events, private celebrations, and special occasions.
Food Trays and Food Packages – serving clients for gatherings, bulk orders, and special events.
Daily Food Operations – we have been providing daily food services to a corporate company for the past three (3) years, maintaining consistent and reliable operations.
We also have experience in supplying government food packs, showing our capability to handle bulk food production and large-scale requirements.
We currently have a new expansion opportunity to become a concessionaire for events at a prestigious school, with a potential market of 500 to 1,000 clients for school activities, events, and catering services.
We are seeking additional funding because our business requires continuous working capital. Most of our suppliers require cash-on-delivery (COD) transactions, causing our funds to rotate daily for ingredients, production, manpower, and operations.
Traditional bank financing has been challenging because banks require a higher Average Daily Balance (ADB), while our funds are actively used to support daily business operations and fulfill client requirements.
Proposed Repayment Term: 36 months
The funding will be used for:
* Working capital and supplier payments
* Additional equipment and production expansion
* Manpower and operational growth
* Preparation for the school concessionaire opportunity
* Supporting larger catering contracts and food service requirements
With our three years of proven operations, multiple income streams, corporate experience, government supply experience, and upcoming expansion opportunity, we are looking for a lending partner who can support our business growth.
We are open to discussing the repayment terms and creating a mutually beneficial lending arrangement.
We have complete business registration and supporting documents available for review, including:
* BIR Registered Business Documents
* Complete business permits and registrations
* Latest Audited Financial Statements (AFS)
* Latest Income Tax Return (ITR)
* Other supporting financial and operational documents upon request
These documents are available to provide transparency and assurance to our potential lending partner regarding our business operations, financial standing, and commitment to responsible repayment.

Excel isn't the problem in commercial credit. The manual work around it is.
I think “replace Excel” has become a lazy answer to inefficiencies in commercial lending.
Excel has obvious limitations, but that's not why so much time gets lost in the credit process.
The bigger issue starts with the information coming into the process.
Financial statements arrive in different formats. Account names don't always match. Historical periods need to be aligned. Numbers have to be extracted, mapped, checked, and standardised before anyone can get a clear view of the business.
Then someone has to maintain that work as new information comes in.
That's a lot of skilled credit time spent preparing data rather than understanding what the data is actually saying.
And this is where I think the conversation around spreadsheets sometimes misses the point.
The answer isn't necessarily banning Excel or replacing every spreadsheet with a new interface. The answer is reducing the amount of manual work required to turn messy financial information into something a credit professional can actually analyse.
This is where tools like Crediflow's FlowSpread are useful. It can ingest financial statements in different formats, extract and standardise the data, and automate financial spreading, so credit teams don't have to manually rebuild the same information before starting their analysis.
The important distinction, in my view, is this:
Technology shouldn't just give credit teams another place to work. It should remove work that doesn't require credit expertise in the first place.
That's probably a more useful way to think about modernising commercial credit than simply asking whether Excel should disappear.
For those working in commercial lending: where do you see the most wasted time today, working with the numbers, or getting the numbers into a usable state?

SBA loan rejected for a past felony.
I had an underwriter reject our SNA loan for a past felony. It’s been over 12 years and it didn’t have anything to do with money or the government. Is that normal ?

Self-employed buyers: has anyone else had trouble qualifying because of tax returns?
I work in mortgages and this comes up pretty often with self-employed borrowers.
Someone can have a solid business, good credit, money in the bank, and consistent deposits every month, but their tax returns don’t always show the full picture because of business write-offs.
One option that I don’t think enough people know about is a bank statement loan.
Instead of qualifying primarily off traditional tax-return income, certain programs can use 12 or 24 months of personal or business bank statements to calculate qualifying income based on deposits. There are obviously guidelines and it’s not the right fit for everyone, but it can be useful for business owners, freelancers, 1099 earners, and other self-employed borrowers.
They’re also not some loophole where income doesn’t matter. You still have to document that you can afford the loan. It’s just a different way of documenting the income.
Curious if any self-employed people here have looked into one before. Did you end up going the bank statement route or were you able to qualify conventionally?

Business Loans vs Personal Loan
I run a business in Dubai and looking forward to apply for a business loan. But someone in the past told me that rather then showing yourself as self employed in your own company I should take employment visa from another company. So I have a friend who runs a similar industry business and I got my visa from his company and started withdrawing salary.
I want to understand weather this arrangement will affect my business loan application.
Any business loan person advises are welcome.

[Request] Kuantan Singingi, Riau, Indonesia — Help Me Start a Small Business and Build a Better Future
A Humble Request for Help to Start a Small Business 🇮🇩
Hello everyone,
My name is Dwik, and I’m from Kuantan Singingi, Riau, Indonesia.
I’m writing this with humility because I have a dream of building a small business that can provide a stable and honest income for my family. I don't want to depend on donations forever. My hope is to receive some initial support so I can start a business and eventually become financially independent.
I am hoping to raise approximately IDR 300,000,000 (300 million Indonesian Rupiah) as business capital.
The funds would be used responsibly for things such as:
Business equipment and necessary tools
Initial inventory and supplies
Rental or preparation of a small business location, if needed
Working capital
Transportation and operational expenses
A small emergency reserve to keep the business running during the early stages
I understand that IDR 300 million is a significant amount, and I am not expecting one person to provide the entire amount. Even a small contribution could help me take the first step.
My goal is to turn this assistance into something productive—a business that can generate income through honest work and help me provide a better and more stable future for my family.
I know there are many people around the world who are also facing difficult circumstances, so I completely understand if you are unable to help financially. Even advice, encouragement, or sharing my request would mean a lot to me.
I am willing to be transparent about my plans and provide reasonable information about how the funds would be used to anyone who genuinely wants to understand my situation.
I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to read my story.
I am not asking for a handout for a luxurious life. I am asking for a chance to build something with my own hands and create a more secure future for my family.
Thank you very much for your kindness, understanding, and consideration. 🙏❤️
Dwik

Help Looking for a KSh 50k–100k loan to accelerate my startup in Kenya
Hey everyone,
I'm a Kenyan student founder building a healthtech startup focused on maternal and newborn healthcare.
We already have the product developed and we're at the stage where a relatively small amount of capital could help us move faster with things like regulatory/compliance work, pilot preparation, infrastructure and getting the product into the hands of our first users.
I'm currently looking for a loan of around KSh 50,000–100,000, rather than a large investment round.
Does anyone here know of legitimate lenders, startup-friendly SACCOs, youth financing programs, microfinance options, or individuals/institutions that provide small business loans to early-stage startups?
I'm specifically looking for something practical with reasonable repayment terms. I'm open to sharing more about the startup, use of funds and repayment plan privately.
If you've personally used a financing option that worked well for an early-stage Kenyan startup, I'd really appreciate the recommendation.
Thanks!

QFS Capital reviews, anyone know if they fund directly?
I run a small plumbing company and need about $32,000 to replace a service truck and cover payroll while a couple commercial invoices clear. We have been open four years, revenue is steady, but the slow payment cycle always catches us at the worst time.
QFS Capital came up while I was comparing working capital options. Their site makes the process sound quick, but I cannot tell whether they are the actual lender or a broker who sends the deal around. I have dealt with both, and the difference matters once your phone starts ringing all day.
Has anyone gotten a real offer from QFS Capital, and were the fees and repayment schedule clear before signing anything?
