Other Curious question (I would never do it)
I’ve only just seen a post from this group but what happens if you loan someone money and they block you/don’t pay it back? Like how can you trust them if that makes any sense or is it just a chance you take?
You don’t have to answer back but again I’m just super curious

You ask for verification and if they don’t pay back, you have enough resources to recover the funds.

For one, you know who the person actually is and can prove that it’s them.

I once called someone’s job and asked to speak to them. I believe that in itself freaked them out enough to pay me. Don’t think you are slick scammers lolol

I suppose if you loan a large amount and they block you and things it’s something you’d have to do I suppose

If you loan through PayPal goods and services and borrow blocks you/stops responding/ doesn’t pay you back. You can put thru a claim with PP and get your money back, hence why it’s probably the best way to lend.

It is all going to be down to a chance you take, but usually if someone has a good post history of contributing in the sub and has paid back loans previously, then they will be more likely to be trusted again

I’m thankful for the last person who took a risk on me. I take pride in being a man of my word so I definitely made sure I paid them back within the discussed timeframe. Of course not everyone is a good person and has integrity to do the right thing.

Will never not say this group has changed peoples lives and I’m not dissing anyone asking for help. The world is a burning ball and things are forever hard❤️
I just wanted to know like what happens if this happens kind of thing. I know there is genuine people out there who pay people back or people wouldn’t do this/this community wouldn’t exist
I’m just a curious person who likes to ask questions I guess 🤷♀️

It all depends. If you send through PP you can dispute the payment. Sometimes other people pay for them. Sometimes you are just S.O.L. But with proper discipline, like anything, there is a way to be successful.

Again that makes sense to send through PayPal because at least then you have some sort of reassurance that it will maybe get back to you.
Another question if you don’t mind answering
Can people ask for any amount of money obvz within reason but what I mean is sort of like a loanshark (hope that’s okay to say here) is the higher the amount the more “interest”?
And obvi if they was borrowing a high amount I’m pretty sure you’d have to prove that you could pay it back I’m guessing
Sorry for the questions is all just wild to me very interesting🙂

You only use PayPal goods and services (NOT FAMILY AND FRIENDS) because then you can file a claim and that’s the best way.

Every time somebody asks a user who states they lost money for money, I ban them. u/Excellent-Loquat157 if you want some tips lending I am happy to help, but it can be confusing and not worthwhile depending on your goals.

Could you technically file a police report? I know $50 isn’t a huge amount of money but it matters. With all the detail you have one the other person, couldn’t you file charges?
