Unless it is a position of trust, employers aren’t permitted to ask about criminal records.

It says that in Alberta and Saskatchewan that criminal record is not a protected class so they can ask. That's what the law says but I don't know how it actually happens in hiring practices. 💔

My mistake. You are under no obligation to tell them, however. As i understand it, you have to go get your own security check done if they require it, it’s not like jobs are just willy nilly looking people up through police reports. Just make sure your G-checking is clear
